A couple of days went by and I was gradually recovering. It was finally the day I would get discharged. My limbs no longer felt dead like before and my injuries got almost healed. The annoying occasional headaches went away though I still felt weary and a bit dizzy sometimes. Hence, I was still bedridden.
These past few days, Taehyung has been visiting me nonstop, bringing me fruits and flowers. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. He kept telling me this all the time while making a serious face. Sometimes, he would feed me even when I insisted to eat on my own.
His mom also came from time to time, especially when Taehyung was still at school. We would keep on talking and I got to know her better. She's very caring and sweet, just like Taehyung.
Images of him grinning flashed in my mind and I automatically smiled. Turning sideways, I looked at the bouquet of roses that Taehyung brought me this morning before he went to school. The flowers sat neatly on the table. The bright pink roses stood out among the lighter pink ones, creating a contrast. There was a cute little pink bow at the base of the bouquet, securing the flowers together.
A knock on the door brought me back from my train of thoughts. I looked towards the door and saw Mrs Kim peeking through the door. She flashed me a sheepish smile. "Were you sleeping? I hope I did not disturb you."
I immediately straightened and shook my head. "Not at all. Infact, I was beginning to get bored." I smiled at her. "Please come in."
She stepped in the room and closed the door before coming to my side. She placed her bag onto the table on my left before sitting next to me. She held my hand and smiled before gently stroking my hair. "How are you feeling, dear?"
"I'm fine." My throat felt a bit dry and I managed to give her a smile. Honestly, I felt a lot better with her visit. The boredom I felt while staying cooped up in a room all day was killing me.
"Why is your voice so low? Here, drink some water." She hurriedly grabbed the glass jar on the table and poured some water in a glass before handing it to me.
I reached out and accepted it while flashing her a smile. "Thank you, Mrs Kim."
Her eyes slightly narrowed and I frowned in confusion. Crossing her arms, she feigned a stern look. "I told you to call me eomma."
"Okay...eomma." I smiled at her and drank the water.
She uncrossed her arms and grinned before standing up. "I'm going to complete the formaIities for your discharge. I'll be right back." She patted me on her shoulder. She walked towards the door and exited the room.
I let out a breath, feeling happy at the thought of getting discharged. Turning sideways, I placed the empty glass on the table.
"Thank god!"
The loud whisper startled me and my head jerked up in surprise. I looked at the door and found it slightly open with Taehyung peeking in the room. He immediately came in and closed the door before making his way towards me.
"Taehyung! Why are you sneaking-"
He cut me off with a gentle peck on the forehead and proceeded to hug me. I was taken aback and froze for a moment. He slithered his arms around my waist and nuzzled his face against my hair. "I missed you." He mumbled and gently tightened the hug.
His loving gesture brought me back from my daze. Letting out a giggle, I wrapped my arms around his torso and hugged him back. "I missed you too." I whispered and gave his hair a little ruffle. We stayed like that for a while and then he pulled back. Rubbing the back of his neck, he gave me a warm smile. "Hey."
