their date turned out to be their first as well as last date. a week after their date, aria's medical condition got worse and no one was allowed to see her since she could slip anytime and any kind of contact will stress her out making her condition critical.

a week later, aria was finally allowed to see aaron, and her dad. her condition was still bad but she pulled through just enough that she would be allowed to see aaron and her dad.

aria called to see her dad first, ❝dad, i don't think i'll be able to hold on any longer. i'm so tired.❞

tears welled up in her dad's eyes when he heard his daughter say that, ❝i understand pumpkin, all i want is for you to be happy...i don't want you to feel any more pain. it's okay if you decide to let go, i'll be alright.❞

❝thank you, dad. can you please send aaron in?❞ her dad nodded and kissed her forehead before leaving the room to send aaron in.

❝aria.❞ aaron breathed as soon as he entered the room and saw her.

❝hey, aaron.❞ 

❝how do you feel?❞ 

❝like shit.❞ she smiled, making him smile as well.

❝your dad told me...❞ 

❝i'm so sorry, aaron. i'm just so tired.❞ 

❝it's okay, baby...i don't want you to suffer any longer.❞ 

❝promise me you'll move on.❞ 

❝i'm in love with you, aria. you know i can't do that.❞ 

❝please, aaron.❞

suddenly, the heart monitors started beeping and aria's heart rate started to fall.

❝aria???❞ 

❝goodbye, aaron. i love you.❞

aria's dad and the medical team rushed in, but by then, it was too late.

she was gone.

a nurse took aaron and aria's dad outside the room and rushed back inside to help the rest of the medical team.

❝son, are you okay?❞ 

❝no sir. are you?❞ 

❝not really. just call me adam now, son.❞ 

❝okay.❞ 

❝she really loved you, aaron. you'll always be her candy boy.❞ 

❝i will always love her, adam. i don't think you'll be hearing from me anytime soon. i just really need time to cope, and think about everything.❞

after that, adam only saw aaron on aria's death anniversaries when he visited her grave with a bouquet of her favourite flowers.

aaron believed what adam had said - that he'll always be aria's candy boy. no matter what.
