I walked up to the big white house nervously, flicking a piece of imaginary lint off my skirt. I had come in a red and black stripped shirt with long sleeves. My skirt was plaid, and my tights were stripped. My green Converses made soft thumps against the paved walkway. Roses sprung up from the garden next to the walkway, which wound up to the house. I ground the toe of my sneaker into the ground, and finally rang the doorbell. Jack opened the door, and he seemed slightly suprised. He seemed to suddenly remember why I was there, standing at his doorway. "Come in, come in." he said, ushering me in.
I stepped inside, and gasped in awe at the sight before me. The entryway was long and elegant, and it led to a kitchen, a living room, and a stairway. I walked a little farther in, and Jack bumped into me lightly. "Go in eh living room." he instructed, and I walked in there. It was darker then I expected, and I sat on the couch.
"Let me go get it." he said.
He clomped up the stairs, and only seconds later, he, or someone else, clomped down.
"Jack?" I asked.
"No, it's Derek." he said. He opened the blinds slightly, and light shimmied in. "See?" he asked, the light shining on his face. I peered closer, not quit sure.
"Um, not to be rude, but...." I paused. "Are you twins?"
He laughed, and said: "There's no way that's possible."
He walked over to me, and grabbed my arm. Pulling me closer, he fell down on the couch. "Uh..." I started, and fell over ontu him. Suddenly, he kissed me. I tried to fight it, but he overpowered me. He kept kissing me, and kissing me, his lips barely ever leaving mine. A loud clearing of the throat interrupted us-er, him- and we looked up, startled to see Jack.
Derek smiled slyly. Pulling the blinds shut, he walked past us, slowly and deliberately. When he passed me, he whispered in my ear "Everybody talks, babe." He slunk off, smiling and chuckling to himself.
Shoving the paper in my hand, Jack turned in his heel and stormed off.
I showed myself to the door.
