Chapter One
---------------
It has been about a year since Tris Prior's death and everyone is still mourning. This is the first anniversary of her death and the Town Hall officials are working on a national celebration for her. I always found her interesting the way she never could give up. Her courage shines through even now.We have been studying her and the faction system ever since the school year started. I was told that after the collapse of the system everyone was given a memory serum to forget about the rebellion and to live a free life without the burden of the memories on our shoulders in a way I kind of wish that they didn't. I'm kinda curious about what my life was like when I was younger.
" Hey Rose!" I was called over by my best friend Amber we have a special connection kind of like Tris and Christina you could say. Amber waved for me to come over and I gladly accepted her offer. I walked over there and sat down in the seat right of her. "Hi" I said " Amber?" I asked " Do you ever wonder what life was like when we were younger?" I asked her " Yes." she said simply. She opened her mouth to speak and the bell rung stopping her abrubtly we said our goodbyes and parted. My next class is Faction Ed. I went down the main hallway and took a left then took a left I went through the door and sat down in the back row.
Mrs. Abbrahms came to the front of the room, wheeling a machine to the front of the classroom. " Hello Class! Today we will be taking the aptitude test to see what it was like to take one. Don't worry you will not be put into any factions, however this test is specifically made so that you cannot make any Divergent choices. Only the strongest of the Divergent can break this test. Sadly, that wonderful person is no longer with us. Rest in Peace Tris Prior...Rest in Peace." the rest of the class murmered to themselves I stayed silent and kept to myself. I was feeling uneasy. " Okay class we will be going in alphabetical order so listen for your name okay?" the class started muttering okays and sures but I still stayed silent.
"Amanda Bynes(lol) come take your aptitude test. Second, Amber Lennon." My friend is second in line. The teacher wheeled down a projecter. " I will project the simulations onto the board for you to see. This project is a test grade so it is vital to your grade." Amanda went up to the front of the room and took her test and so did everyone else. I was last.
It was true no Divergent choices were made and everyone was unaware. I walked up to the front of the room and she put the electrodes on my head in a few seconds I was transported to another world. A booming voice echoed " Choose" I looked around and realized I was in the cafeteria. Two tables appeared in front of me one held a knife and one held cheese. I refused. I was still confused "No" "Suit Yourself" and the tables dissapeared and the back doors swung open. A dog came out with his teeth bared growling at me. It came closer and closer and I fell to my knees.
I closed my eyes and braced for impact but it never came, instead something wet grazed my cheek. I opened my eyes and saw that I was being licked by the "Killer" dog. "Your not so big and mean are you?" I said in a soft voice. I started to pet the dog and rub it's belly and then a girl ran into the room."Puppy!!!!!!" the girl exclaimed and ran over to us with a smile on her face. The dog turned it's head and growled it walked over over to the girl with bared teeth, growling. It started into a sprint and the smile on the girl's smile quickly vanished she screamed and I jumped up and ran towards the dog. It was just about to jump and bite her I tackled the dog and threw my arms around it's neck the moment it went limp I was back in the classroom. I looked around and at the teacher's desk she looked up at me with wide eyes and furiously typed something into the computer. I heard a voice over the intercom "Rose Mason please report to the main office please?" I slowly walked over to the office. I walked through the double doors and I was greeted by a woman with glasses. "Hello Rose you have a lot to know." I followed her to her office.
I found a chair and sat down "Rose...your test was inconclusive." she said "What?! She said that it was impossible to test Divergent unless you're-" I was cut of abubtly "Tris Prior I know. That Is what you need to know. Rose, you are Tris Prior." She said. "We gave everyone a glamour so that everyone can forget EVERYTHING. Also, we had to change everything about you even your personality and appearance. As soon as I turn it off you will be Tris Prior and Amber will be Christina." She pushed a button and I immediatly felt a change.
I looked into the mirror and I saw me.
Tris Prior.
