The concept of finding "The One" I always found completely ridiculous. Thinking that there is only one person that is meant for you out of the 9 billion people living on this earth is naive. I've always believed that there are many people that could make you happy, "complete" you and love you, although some more than others.

It was cold, the type of cold that made you want to never leave your house, the type of cold that left you shivering even under too many layers of clothing. Making my way out of the car, everything seemed bright. I noticed the boot trails coming from all directions leading to a large beige building, I noticed the sugar coated trees and the cool wind filling my lungs. All my senses were heightened. As I walked into the large room full of eager little souls, I started becoming more aware of myself. I was wearing a over-sized pyjama top and leggings, barely any mascara and my curly brown hair looked like it hadn't been brushed in a decade. As I was holding onto my little brother, scared because he had never left home for more than a night, I noticed a familiar face pop out from behind a girl who I can barely remember. This young man, although I saw him grow up, for a second, seemed like a complete stranger to my eyes. I felt a shiver run all the way down my body, like every cell was urging me to get closer to him. He came towards my brother and every single hair on my body stood up, every square inch of my skin burning as if he was on fire. Embracing the young boy, he looked up and smiled at me, and I immediately felt all my blood rush to my face. I was a young mess, and this handsome older boy was looking me right in the eye, probably distracted by my messy hair. Nevertheless, his eyes didn't leave mine. It was as if my soul knew something my heart, my mind and my body didn't know yet. He was the one.
