Bus Station

I'm Erin.

I'm trying to get away from my husband.

He's a detective in Boston.

He's abusive and an alcoholic.

I had some help from our neighbors, the Feldmans.

I didn't feel like doing anything to disguise myself from him.

To hell with him.

He's drunk for Gods sakes.

The only thing I did was clean the blood off me and put normal clothes on.

I hate wearing designer clothes. I hate it.

I had a jacket on and the hood was covering my face.

I arrived at the bus station.

I hurried into the bus station.

I heard sirens wailing in the distance.

I already knew it was Kevin.

I looked over my shoulder.

I was buying a bus ticket to Atlanta.

"Alright."

I heard indistinct chatter over the PA.

"There you go, miss. Thank you."

I quickly handed him the money for the bus ticket and took the bus ticket from him.

I heard sirens wailing outside.

Some male shoved me on purpose.

"What the hell's your problem, dude?"

"You're Detective Kevin Tierney's wife, aren't you?"

"No."

"Don't lie to me. That isn't going to get you anywhere. Tell me if this is yours."

He held up my wedding ring.

"How in the hell did you even get that?"

"I got my ways."

"You did something to make him do this. You bastard. What the hell is wrong with you? Do you really want to get revenge on him that badly?"

"Yes."

I was stalling him.

I heard screeching cars outside the bus station.

I jumped up and ripped my wedding ring out of his hands.

"Now, you ain't not got proof that I'm his wife. I've got to go."

I walked away from him.

I smirked, victoriously.

He ran after me and punched me in the face but it wasn't a proper punch.

I looked over my shoulder and saw Kevin emerge from one of the cars.

"Oh, damn. I got to go. Right now."

"Have fun with that, Erin."

"My name isn't Erin. It's Katie. Idiot."

I was walking quickly by people to try and avoid Kevin finding me.

A bus station worker bumped right into me.

"Oh, sorry. Ma'am, I'm so sorry. Are you alright?"

I walked away without answering his question.

"Are you alright?"

"Wait, they're not boarding in there yet."
