You Have My Word

You stand there again, we've been here before

I've messed up again, what do you take me for?

I owe you everything, my debt is growing,

I'm in too deep, what's the point in trying?

Every day I would fail  you,

Every day I take the smile that defines you.

How can you tolerate my wrongs and my failures,

Another day, another failure, nothing is newer.

You were the light that gave me hope,

You've saved me from the end of the rope,

Despite the times I couldn't help you,

Despite the times I had forsaken you.

And you read my feelings i had so well hidden,

The door to my soul, entry i had forbidden,

I don't deserve you, I am but a blunt sword,

I won't fail you again, you have my word.
