up all night-chapter one

Shelby's POV: 

"Section 107, row A, seat 17, its your lucky day! You may bring one friend to join us up on stage!"  

My heart sunk. That was my seat. I looked at my best friend Mikenna who was jumping up and down with tears in her eyes. We made our way to the stage where we were handed a bouquet of flowers. As we got closer and closer to the stage I got more and more nervous. I was shaking and I couldn't believe I actually one the contest.  

As we were walking up the stairs we were greeted by Niall and Harry who escorted us to two stools. Once we were situated, they sang One Thing to us. Oh my gosh. One direction was actually singing to us. They all had voices to die for. In the moment I couldn't tell who was the cutest. They were all perfect. I was so caught up in everything I didn't even look at Mikenna to see how excited she was.

Mikenna's POV: 

Oh god. Sweet mother of pearl. One Direction is singing to me in front of 3000 jealous girls. This is crazy and I don't even dream about things this good. Iv got butterflies and harry looks so sexy. I cant believe this is happening!

Zayn's POV: 

These girls are so beautiful but all I can think about is Perrie. Man, I miss her so much. Just two more weeks Zayn. Two more weeks... at least I know my hair looks good!

Harry's POV: 

All I have to say is this brunette is stunning...

Liam's POV: 

"And you've got that one thing"

Louis's POV: 

Eleanor has that one thing.. haha I'm clever!

Niall's POV:  

Be smooth Niall, be smooth. I think the blonde one is totally into me. Just act like you normally do on stage. But not too much.. you don't want her to think your not interested. Act interested. Oh god she's beautiful. Jesus Niall get your Irish self together!

Shelby's POV:  

Its Liam's solo and his voice gives me chills. Harry just whispered something to Niall and they both looked at me.. I hope there's nothing in my teeth considering I have a ridiculous smile on my face.

Niall's POV:  

Oh god. She knows. Play hard to get

Harry's POV: 

Oh my god. She is so pretty I don't even know what to do. I know what not to do though. I cant look her in the eyes too much. Iv done that before and it did not end well. And Iv got years of experience. Don't look, don't look. Oh god her eyes are so pretty. Stop it harry. Play hard to get

Liam POV: 

Why are harry and Niall being so weird? Like they have never seen girls before.

Mikenna POV: 

Harry is taking my breath away with his voice. Wow that was cheesy but I have to remember to play hard to get. Okay... Seriously what are the chances that he feels the same anyways. All you won is a contest. He probably thinks your ugly considering he hasn't looked me in the eyes once. Come on Mikenna get real

Shelby POV: 

The song ends and they take us back stage. But have to leave us there for a little bit because they have to say good night to every one else. We wait impatiently wondering what will happen next. I doubt any thing is going to happen. Like all we did was win a contest and now we are going home. Neither me or Mikenna was talking because we were still in shock. I was getting antsy waiting for them. Finally I got myself together and spoke to Mikenna. 

"That was amazing." 

"I know! What did Harry and Niall say to each other?"  

"I have no idea-" before I could finish the boys walked in and joined us on the couches.

Harry POV: 

You got this one, shes all yours. Now sit next to her and act cool.

Niall POV: 

Okay stay calm. She has no idea that you whispered that you thought she was gorgeous to Harry. Oh my god shes smiling at me as I'm walking in. What do I do?! Follow harry , he knows what he's doing. Oh god she looks amazing. Oh my god stop. Holy crap.. do I sit next to her like Harry sat next to her friend? Just sit next to her. you don't want to overwhelm her! Just sit down near her.

Zayn's POV: 

This is weird. Whats wrong with Niall? I better text Perrie.  

'Hey babe. I miss you! See you in two weeks! Tell the rest of the Mixers hey! Xx'

Shelby POV:  

NO WAY. Harry just sat right next to Mikenna.. someones got the hots!  

To break the awkward silence I opened my mouth to introduce myself when Louis's sweet voice spoke from behind me.  

"Niall buddy.. you're sweating like crazy! You nervous or something? Hahahaha!" 

Everyone laughed but my laugh was on the uneasy side considering I was nervous too. Louis continued. 

"And what are your names lovely ladies?" 

"Oh sorry.. I'm Shelby and this is my best friend Mikenna" I said as I shivered nervously. 

"Well Mikenna and Shelby, how did you girls like the concert?" Liam asked. Mikenna finally said something. 

"It was amazing! I had so much fun especially getting to come on stage with you boys!" She looked right at Harry who looked like he was unsure if he should say something or keep quiet. But he clearly came to a quick decision and said, "We're glad you enjoyed it!"  

His smile is utterly perfect but I just couldn't stop staring at Niall.

Niall POV: 

She's looking at me oh my god do I look back? ....she just smiled at me. She is so perfect. Smile back! You don't want to look like a jerk.

Shelby POV: 

Zayn broke in. "I've got to go lads. Perrie is calling me." 

"Zayn and his girlfriend.." Louis said while rolling his eyes jokingly. Everyone of the guys got this and laughed but as for me and Mikenna we had no idea what they meant but we didn't care. Both of us were clearly focused on Harry and Niall. Something about the way they were acting had me thinking.. Maybe we do have a chance.  

We talked for about two hours laughing and having fun and then wrapped things up. 

After we said goodbye, we walked towards the door. As we were opening it harry and Niall stopped us. 

"We had a lot of fun and were wondering if you would fancy joining us tomorrow?" Said harry in his usual slow morbid tone. 

"Of course we will" said Mikenna smiling. We gave them our numbers and as soon as I got in the car I got a text from Niall saying sweet dreams.
