"B-brother?" The twins asked. Its finally the weekend.
"Yeah? What is it?" They were happy i was back to not being pissy. And then they looked sad and showed me their bears. Ninos was blue and kiras was normal colored. Theyre arms were missing.
"Oh no! What happened to them?" I asked as i hugged them.
"Big sis chopped their arms off!!"
"No bear is going around with one arm now." I said and went to wake up luka. "I know your awake. Give up the arms of the twins bears."
"And why should i? Those two jumped on me and made me hit my head."
"Give them up or mom will hear about it when she gets home."
"Thats not going to scare me." I left, grabbed a cleaver from the kitchen and grabbed her arm.
"Then if you want your arm, give the two bear arms back." She handed them to me. She knows i will because i did the same thing with two of her toes with i was ten when she took the legs of said bears. She is now missing two of her toes. Dont mess with me or my siblings is basically what im getting it. I then grabbed the sewing kit.
"Now which bear wants it arm back first?" I asked and they both handed me their bear. I grabbed ninos and made sure it looked like the arm was never taken off and then kiras bear and gave them back at the same time. They hugged me and then the door. And that woke mako up. I went to get him and had him stop crying and then went to answer the door with him in my arms. It was kimoru.
"Go away." I stated and tried to close the door but he stuck his foot between the door and the door frame.
"Are you going to at least let me talk?!" And now mako is about to cry. I glared at kimoru. And grabbed a pacifier from my pocket and he stopped fussing.
"What do you need?"
"Something your whole family should know."
"They already saw the mark."
"Not that."
"Fine. Yell again, i will kill you. Mako here will cry if anyone yells around him." I let him in and woke up maka and dragged luka out of her and moms room.
"What do you need?!" Luka whisper yelled to not make Mako fuss. I shrugged. Kimoru was already being used as a jungle gym by the twins and maka.
"What did you need?"
"Your mom is in the hospital. I saw her come in with the people who drive the ambulance."
"And your messing with us." Luka stated.
"Im not. I work as the nearby hospitals first look person on the weekends. Someone who assesses injuries to determine if they can wait to see a doctor or they need to be checked out by one right then and there." He stated. "I have to be in the lobby or by the secretary so when i saw her, i asked and then came right here. She got into a car crash. They dont know if shes even going to live." He stated.
"You heard him. Get your shoes and coats on!" I stated and got mako dressed and ready and we all left.
When we got there, mom was in a bad condition. When she saw us, she smiled. She was already sitting up and i gave her mako. He hugged her tightly.
"Th-thankyou for bringing your siblings..." She said weakly.
"Kimoru!" He came back and i dragged him in. "He told us you were in here. Thank him. Not me." I stated and noe everyone else us hugging her. Nino was the one who asked why blood got on her when she hugged mom.
"A small but sharp bit of glass managed to pierce into my stomach. They managed to remove it but they just recently got the bleeding to slow down. It hasnt stopped yet but its slower now." The twins, maka and mako began to cry. She basically told us she was going to die.
"Dont die mommy!" They cried.
"I cant promise that. And shiro. If i do, take care of your siblings. And kimoru, make sure shiro doesnt work himself ragged." She was smiling like everything was going to be alright. If the twins, maka and mako dont grow up truely knowing their mom, what kind of childhood will they have? Luka probably doesnt care. I then felt something role down my face... I cant cry... If i do... They will know that the situation is worst than they thought... I was then grabbed by mom and she hugged me close and did the same with Luka. I then saw that the bleeding picked up again. An artery must have been cut. So its mainly internal bleeding then... The doctor then kicked us all out but had trouble trying to get me out. Stubborn-ness.
"Come on, we cant work with you in here!"
"Not until you swear your life my mom will live."
"We cant promise anything. We will try our best." He got me out and kimoru held me back from going back into the room.
"Bruder...? Is mommy gonna live?" Maka asked. She never really talks... I picked her up and we went to the waiting room.
"I dont know Maka.... I dont know..." Shes almost four, yet she talks pretty well. I took Mako from Luka and held the two.
"You guys should go home. I will come by again if they can guarantee anything."
"No. If she dies, we will need to be here so i can do serious damage to the one that did let mom die if she does. Luka, take nino and get some of the blood off of her." Luka did as told and i hugged kira as well.
"Kimoru, more patients just came in!" The secretary stated.
"Of course." He told her. "I will be back in a bit." He left.
After about twenty minutes, a doctor came out and didnt look like he had good news.
"Your mom is dead... We did our best to keep her alive but in the end... It wasnt enough..." He stated. I gave maka and mako to Luka and stood up and punched the doctor.
"If she died, it means you didnt try hard enough! Did you even check to see how bad the injury was?! Did you check to make sure it wasnt mostly internal bleeding?!!" Im being held back by luka and the twins.
"Im sorry, sir. We did everything that was authorised to save her but-"
"Kimoru, the one checking the patients, is a better doctor than any of you. Hire him as soon as hes out of highschool." I stated and picked up mako and maka began to leave.
When we got home, i gave them to luka and went to the room and decided to go to bed. And soon i was kicked by Luka.
"What?" I asked.
"You do know what being the eldest means right?"
"What?"
"Heres how families work. When dad died, mom took over. Now its your turn. Like if you die, i will take over."
"Fine... Knowing the luck of this family, im next." I stated and she dragged me by the foot out to the living room and i was dog piled. "How much a month did mom pay for all the bills?" I asked.
"14,000,000¥(140,000$). Big house. Its mainly all living room and kitchen though. And then you add the power, water, trash, and sewage." She stated.
"So i have to get more jobs huh?" I grabbed a paper and did some math. I work from after school to 10 at night. Im going to have to skip from lunch on in order to fit in more jobs. I looked up some jobs and found a few. Im gonna have Luka watch everyone but mako tomarrow so i can check them out.
"What should we have for dinner?" I asked. They came out with the same response so i made it. I put the medication i had to take in my drink and put all the food on the table and i let them grab first and i took the rest. After we ate, i fed mako but he refused to eat. And it was his favorite...
"Come on Mako. You need to eat to be big and strong!"
"Mu." He stated and crossed his arms the best he could.
"Lets put it this way. Dont eat, you sleep with Luka." And he ate. "Sissy Luka! Brother Mako doesnt like you very much!" She glared back.
When i was about to leave with Mako, someone knocked on the door. I went to get it and it was, guess who?! Kimoru.
"What do you want?"
"First of all, i convinced my father to pay for at least your bills from now on. And second, making sure you dont over work yourself."
"We dont need it. Im fine with getting another two jobs."
"Too bad. No options."
"Im just fine without your help. And besides, id rather go nuts than to know i was useless to my own family." He then grabbed Mako from me and pushed past me and i ended up having to chase him. And when i got to him, he told the rest of them. They then told me i didnt have to get any more jobs and that i can spend more time with them. I forced myself to smile and look happy. I hate relying on others with things i can do twice as well as they can.
