The Forgotten Vow
A/N: Unedited. Please bear with my grammatical errors. This is only a fantasy short story. I want to write a story for Jewel, one of my subordinate characters on "A Cupid's Slave" story (Book 2 of 'A Demigod's Kiss')
An independent story though.... *winks**

"Worthless bitch! I already told you about the rent payment and you still not paying me!" The landlady grimaced at me, standing in my doorway, aware of her morning humiliation, and yet she doesn't care about it. The sun is about to shine but it seems like I can't feel the warmth of the light anymore. "Pay me tomorrow or I will throw you outside." She gave me a death glare; her fingers are pointing at me, before she turns around and heads for downstairs.
I shut the wooden door as swift as I can. I close my eyes, feeling my trembling hand, trying to scrutinize my damn situation, since I don't want to be a wandering fool by tomorrow. I hate her, my landlady, Mrs. Samantha Eden. I hate her ever since I live here. I wish that she will die from my very eyes, turning to stone until her heart beat stops, seeing her horrific face pleading for forgiveness, and hearing the unattainable sound I've been aching to hear since day one--- silence.
I live twice but nothing ever alters from my spiteful fate. I am still the worthless woman who lives in isolation, craves for warmth affection, and yearns for belongingness. I guess The Fates really hate me for which they give me another life with the same poignant feelings and yawning sufferings.
I hurriedly run outside, conscious from this heavy rain, I don't really care. I don't mind being drenched as long as I am free to whimper everything. Sitting beside the street, my black shirt and peach skirt are really soaked, and the cold wind is never been this colder.
"We meet again, Jewel," a man's enticing voice utters. He's there holding his red umbrella in front of me. I frown to notice a familiar face who just speaks my name as if he knows me all but then again I can't remember him. How weird is that?
I stand up and I was about to say something when he pats my head and scowls at me. "What are you doing here?" He continues as he takes off his maroon leather jacket and wraps it in my body.
"Do I know you?" I wait for his answer but there is none. His dark blue eyes met mine, and I feel something odd from the inside. He has a scar on his face from his left eye down to his chiseled cheek but his perfect features are still really appealing. He is soaring over me, and I begin to sense a feeling of inferiority. He holds my shivered hand; tighten his grip, and dragging me away from the street.
"Let me go!" I screech so loud but he doesn't care too. I try to get lose but his grip is too tight for me. The rain is still pouring the ground and there is nobody there but us. Fear is gradually crawling in my body and my breathing is a bit hard now.
He slowly drags me in the next corner and there I spot a white luxurious car parking not far away from us. He is still grasping my hand and I am trying to loosen his hold but it is quite tight. "You Mister," I scowl, "Where do you think we're going? I am not what you think I am! I think you have just mistaken. Please, let me go."
Still, there is no respond from him. I'm so pissed off but at the same time curiosity is kicking me. Maybe he thinks that I am a prostitute in that empty alley, waiting for my next costumer. My god!
When we reach his car, he opens it and as get inside without a speaking a word. He starts the engine as I take a glance from my abductor. "Where are you taking me?"
"Away from here... away from him," he whispers without even looking back. I don't know what's going on or who 'him' that he is referring to, but I feel a sense of threat. "Who the hell are you? Why can't you answer me back?"
"I'm just a nobody," he simply replied. I try to calm myself from this situation but I just can't. My heart is beating so fast. I can almost feel the blood in my veins.
I look at him again in the driver's seat, "I have nothing. I don't even know you. Please stop the car and let me out."
He doesn't make any reply. After several minutes of driving, he stops outside of huge mansion's gate. This man is damn rich. So why on earth is he abducting me?
"Where are we?" I ask him while looking around. This place is really huge, full of expensive vintage furnitures. Lots of paintings are in here painted by some famous painters. There is a giant fountain inside and I am almost astonished when I notice an old painting with my own face in the main living room, capturing a daily route scene, sitting underneath a tree while reading a book. It has even my deep aura.
I turn around and meet his intense gaze, "Who made this?" His face now lightens and a bit shy, he gives me a towel and there I see something different. That this man is not as bad as I assume, I take the towel from his hand.
"I-I," he speaks with uneasiness, "I made this."
I arched my eyebrow, "Why?"
"I don't know."
"You paint something like this and you just tell me that you don't know?"
He silently turns around. Okay, this is really weird. I should be stunned to see myself abducting by a strange man and find my own face in a painting but it makes me feel warmth. A kind of warm that I have never been felt before; I can't hate this man no matter how much I want to.
"I don't know how it feels like to be a human," he utters. My eyes widened by his strange words. I bit my lip to meet a man whose personality is as strange as mine.
I look at him from his head to foot, but he looks so damn normal, except for the fact that he's one hell of a damn good looking man that any women will die to have. I'm trying to see the truth behind those deep eyes, but it seems like he's so much more than just watching him through my naked eyes, "What are you?"
"I told you. I am just a nobody."
And there he says it again. I roll my eyes over his stupid answers. Why can't he just answer me back? "Why is my face in there?" I start pointing the painting in front of us.
"Honestly, I already painted that before I met you."
Shocked by his prompt response, how the hell does it happen? "Then what are you?"
"I am just a nobody, a unique creature made by a selfish Greek god. In order for him to marry the woman destined to be his queen, he needed to let go his greatest love. And so by doing it, he made me."
"A part of a god?"
"Not just a part of him... I am his heart.."
