Chapter 7

It was late, almost midnight and she just got back from work. She was limping as she entered the mansion.

Her hands were bruised and she had a bruise on her right eye too. She was feeling lucky that both of her guardians weren't home.

She entered the kitchen and went looking for a bowl, vinegar and some cotton balls.

Pouring the vinegar in the bowl and soaking the cotton balls in it, she carried the bowl to her room.

Dragging her feet through the stairs and wheezing her way to the room, she sighed in relief.

Rubbing her good eye, careful not to touch the bruised one, she wiped her tears. The thought that everything went wrong with the mission, crushed her.

She failed her oppa...

Today has been a really long day for her. She had her training done just like her normal routine with Jin for her culinary lessons but then she was called in for a mission.

On the mission today, she almost got herself killed along with Jimin. She had few marks on her legs indicating she was hit with a rod. Her hand were bruised as she tried to fight off the men, who were trying to hold her hostage and sell her off.

Suddenly she heard her cellphone ring. It was Jimin calling.

"Yuri-chan, I'll drop by in the morning to bring you something for your leg. Did you prepare something for the bruises?"

"Yeah. I just got the cotton balls ready. Oppa? What about your shoulder?" Yuri asked remembering that he had a bullet wound. She was about to cry because he was injured due to her carelessness.

"Don't worry about it, I'll have it treated at the agency so don't start crying again." He said as he heard her shaky breaths and trembling voice. "But you see to it that your bruises are faded enough that Taehyung doesn't suspect anything." Jimin warned her.

"He wouldn't. I'm not meeting him until this weekend." She whispered sadly and sniffles knowing that Taehyung left the country for a conference in Japan.

"Ah right! I forgot about it..." There was some rustling around and murmurs before she heard him say, "Yeah yeah. I'm telling her..." She heard him reply to Jin.

"Jin hyung is saying that he'll be getting you some chicken soup and... and blood sausage stew. Let me finish talking to her-" Jimin gets interuppted as Jin snatched the phone.

"Yuri-ah! Don't forget to eat the lunch box I gave you. Then take a painkiller and rest." Jin said after grabbing the phone from Jimin.

"Oppa! Worry about me later. Drive carefully and message me when you're home." Saying that she hung up and released a painful groan.

Jimin's POV

"Hyung-" I started but Jin hyung stops me.

After checking in on Yuri, hyung has been awfully quiet but now he was shooting flames...

"Don't say a word! I can't believe you were careless enough to get shot." He said disappointedly without taking his eyes off the road. "What if Yuri got shot?" His voice rose an octave higher as he stopped the car. "Or if you wouldn't have noticed that she was blocking the shooter's view, she could've died!" He finally voiced out his worries.

I've failed my donsaeng... I thought as I dropped my gaze to the ground.

"I didn't know that she was still in vicinity. It was when you called in saying she didn't reach the meet up point for the getaway." I started.

It felt like I was reliving those terrified moments.

"She didn't?" I said breathlessly when I registered what hyung said. That Yuri is missing.

Jin hyung wasn't a part of the organization but he was our getaway driver.

He never left me alone, since the beginning and when Yuri came along, he never left us.

"She was supposed to report back here, ten minutes ago! I think something went wrong... You have the weapon?"

"I do! I'm trailing her route back to you and see if I can get to her!" I said before running across the floor giving it a run down and moving forward.

Our mission was to capture the biological weapon stored in the warehouse. It was a walk in the park until, Yuri didn't report.

As I was moving down the warehouse, checking each floor for any signs of Yuri, I heard some rattling. Like a metal crashing down to the floor. Some distant voices, yelling.

I was so busy, trying to understand the noises, hoping to find Yuri that I didn't see a red spot pointing at my torso.

I was standing by the stairs when someone approached me from the back. The person sneaked up on me and I was busy fending him off.

He had a rod in his hand and a pocket knife in other. I noticed these things and was still unaware of the red spot pointing at my back.

Everything happened quickly.

I heard Yuri scream "Sunbae!" as she jumped in front of me and turned to see a guy pointing at us. The next thing I know was, I snatched the rod from the guy and smashed it against Yuri's shin which made her fall and get out of the guy's target zone, I wasn't so lucky.

"But Jimin, you should know that being her superior, you shouldn't have left her alone." He said which drew me out of the trance.

Easier said than done. I thought as I heard him say that but I don't utter a word out, just nod in agreement.

"Jimin-ah, I know that I don't understand how this mission things work but I can't just see you both get hurt." He said softly. "You both are the only family I got and I plan to keep this family intact and safe."

Good thing he doesn't know that Yuri was almost shipped off to some brothel... I shudder as I think about it.

Yuri couldn't report back because she was abducted. Luckily, they had their guards down because she was able to get out without much damage.

I need to get her on a regular training since she was really lucky to get away with the little amount of skills she has.

"Hyung, you'll be checking up on Yuri?" I ask trying to change the topic.

"I will after we get you treated by a doctor." He answered while starting the car. "Good thing Yuri is a girl." He said as we hit the road.

"Why?"

"Because I don't carry tampons in my bag!" He said and I realized that I had a tampon plugged in the bullet wound.

"It really stopped the blood from bleeding out though, quick thinking on her part."
