Visiting Day (Uriah and Marlene)

Hiya this is an urlene one-shot about what happened in Visiting Day after they became Dauntless members...enjoy!

Marlene walked into the Pit nervously. It was the first time she was gonna see her parents and brother since Visiting Day back when she was still an initiate.

And she didn't know what they will think, or say.

Although she was a Dauntless member and she had nothing to worry about, you never knew with her parents.

She was specially nervous because she had to tell them about Uriah and her. About their current relationship.

It's not like her parents didn't like Uriah or hated the idea of them being together. Actually, she's never asked them about it but the way they've always treated Uriah said it all.

She hoped that they didn't find their relationship awkward or disgusting. Uriah and her didn't, so technically nobody should.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she spotted her 10-year-old brother running towards her.

"MAR!" he shouted, catching everyone's attention. She saw Uriah smiling at her by the corner of her eye.

"Loggy!" She shouted back, spreading her arms to give him one of those bear hugs he hated so much.

Marlene embraced Logan until she saw her parents smiling in front of her, and she pulled away slowly, not before ruffling her brother's hair.

"Hey!" he shouted "You pansycake!"

Marlene shook her head. Uriah was rubbing on that kid a little too much.

Marlene looked at her parents and smiled. They looked the same as they looked the last time she had seen them, but maybe this time they looked a little prouder? More relieved? Marlene couldn't figure out what it was, but she was happy to see them again.

They took a seat in one of the tables that were a little too close to Uriah and Zeke's. But she decided to ignore that fact.

"How have you been?" Her mom asked her while trying to keep Logan on his seat. He wanted to run around the Dauntless compound so bad.

"I've been good" Marlene said "I've passed initiation, as you see. Now I'm officially a Dauntless member. I'll be working as a trainer soon"

Her dad nodded in approval "And meanwhile?"

"I'm not sure" Marlene said truthfully "I'll probably be a nurse or something"

"You've always liked helping people" her mom said, smiling. Marlene nodded.

"I still don't know how you're not Abnegation, or Amity" her brother said, finally paying some attention at the conversation instead of trying to run away.

"I'm just a Dauntless with a heart" she shrugged.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING STOP STEALING MY CLOTHES" someone yelled from the opposite side of the Pit.

They turned away to see it was Christina, who was arguing with her little sister probably about her stealing Chris's jeans or something.

Typical Christina.

Although she could literally kick you in the balls and leave you sterile, she was a really girly girl. It wasn't a bad combination.

"Excuse my friend Christina" Marlene said looking at her parents again "She gets really mad about this topic"
