Matthew and Somin had said their goodbyes and went their separate ways after having their fun at the bar. Jiwoo was still calling for a taxi, Taehyung being unable to drive home in his drunken state. Once inside, he stopped her before she could shut the door for him, ushering her into the cab as well, "I might need help settling in later on".
They had arrived at his small apartment, Jiwoo guiding Taehyung to lay down on his couch. "You never really got the chance to answer Matthew's question earlier," He said with his eyes closed from exhaustion but his mind still wondering out of curiosity. She was surprised because she thought he had already fallen asleep. "It's a long story," she expected this to be the end of their conversation.
"I'm listening," He said while moving to an upright position. Jiwoo reluctantly sat down on the couch and decided to put her trust into Taehyung.
"My last boyfriend was not a very nice guy. I never seemed to do anything right in his eyes, he made me think everything was my fault. I just got used to using the word 'sorry', since I was always the one saying it. I still don't exactly feel good enough for anyone else, so it's easier to please others by apologizing," by saying everything out-loud, she only ended up upsetting herself but she did not want Taehyung to see her cry. Taehyung was at a loss of words when Jiwoo turned away from him. He inched closer, cautiously leaving a reasonable amount of space between them, and thought about what he wanted to say.
"i'm sorry I couldn't be there for you then, but i'll always try to be here for you from now on,"
Jiwoo was unwilling to respond through her tears, but she knew he would stay true to his word.
