Chapter 1: It was November 16th and the Aptitude test was today. It was a normal day in Amity. My mother was picking corn, my father mowing the lawn, and my brother planting seeds. I was watering the fields. It was so peaceful.

I was a little scared, they don't tell us anything about the test. I heard that it shows you certain things and any way that you react to it, it places you in a faction. A faction is a group that has a special skill. There's Abnegation, the selfless, Amity, the peaceful, Candor, the honest, and Dauntless, the brave. I was in Amity. there is also the factionless, they are the ones that don't have a faction. you can become factionless when you pick a faction and you don't go by initiation, then you're factionless.

Chapter 2: I went to the aptitude building with my brother, Tommy. We are the same age, 16, when you are 16 you get to choose what faction you are in. We saw our friends, Brianna and Robert, in line. Tommy was talking to Robert and I was talking to Brianna. she said that she was scared, but I was terrified.

After Brianna went a few people went... then it was my turn. I was so scared, how can I fail a test that I can't study for? No one was as scared as me, my palms were sweaty and my face pale. I could barely breath. Then a lady with purple hair called my name... "Rebecca." I walked in and sat on a chair that looks like the dentist chair. I asked for her name and she said "Maggie." I could tell she was Dauntless, she had a lot of tattoos.

Chapter 3: Maggie had a blue colored serum and she told me to drink it. I was sweating while I drank it. suddenly, I could barely see anything, it was just a big blur. The last thing I heard was "good luck." it was Maggie.
