Depression is an illness, just like any other illness it comes and goes. Some are permanent, however, that happens when that person does not care for themselves. No teen, adult, child does not care for themselves when depression is around. They try to make it go away, but forget, it's an illness in your mind. It has those moments where it returns but it ends up leaving. When people say "I'm depressed." They are forgetting that depression is not you, and will never be you. That energetic, happy, bright eyed, child is still there. You must learn that depression is not a part of you, you can block those chants of suicide, and cuts on your wrists. You were never born with those chants. It uses your trauma against you, to weaken you, to harm you. Learning that takes a long time, but, you can tell yourself everyday, depression is not you. Ignore those hurtful comments it uses to its advantage. It will be a challenging war, but you're on this Earth for a reason, everyone has a mission. Whether your mission is to be a parent and a loving husband/ wife. Or if you are able to change the world with a charity, or with the power in your hands. Everyone has that power, you just need to work and fight for that bright eyed cheerful child.
