Mae gasped in shock, and both men's heads snapped up to her. She gulped and stepped back to the door, only to watch it snap shut behind her. The man she'd been running from stood there, with his hand on the door and a menacing smile on his face. She turned back to Luca.

"Did I just walk in on a kinky sex act?" She immediately blushed after saying that out loud. Why didn't she control her thoughts?

The guy in the chair chuckled. "You've certainly grown a pair since your left your father." Luca turned around and punched the guy, whose head turned to the side from the impact.

"Luca, no! Don't hurt him!" He strode over to Mae quickly, almost at an inhumane speed. She gasped, almost stepped back, but then remembered who was behind her and stayed where she was. When she turned around again, Luca was stood in front of her. He circled his arm around her protectively.

Mae winced when his hand touched her sore back. "What? What is it? Are you hurt?" His eyes scanned her form, worried.

"Um, yeah, I just - it's nothing. Just hurt myself on the way down here, but it'll heal. Nothing that bad," she smiled at him as he removed his hand from her back.

He raised an eyebrow at her, about to argue, when the guy in the chair - Mae vaguely remembered that his name was Craig - started to laugh.

"So the great mafia Don has a weakness, the boss was right. Although he'll never believe it when  I tell him it's his shitty excuse for a daughter."

Luca's jaw clenched. He turned to Mae, caressed the side of her head and smiled at her. "Close your eyes, my darling. I don't want you seeing this." She did as he said, and, anticipating what was coming, covered her ears too. It didn't completely drown out the cracking sound as Luca broke Craig's neck, though.

"Don, we need to go back upstairs. Your father has requested your presence, he's here with your mother." Mae flinched when she remembered that the guy was still there. She'd somehow managed to ignore his presence. Luca made her feel....safe, as much as she hated to admit it.

"What is it, regina? Why are you so scared of Capo Marco?" She was afraid to tell him. She didn't want to bring the anger of that man down on her again.

"R-regina?" Capo Marco stuttered from behind them. Both turned to look at him. He had gotten considerably paler. "Please, Don, forgive me. I must be punished for hurting the queen. I had no idea, I thought she was another whore. Don, I-" Luca cut him off with an angry snarl. Before Mae had time to react, the Capo was on the floor, being beaten by Luca. Mae knew all too well how strong he was, yet he made no move to fight his boss, just accepted the pain.

"Luca, stop! Why are you hurting him?" Luca looked up at her for a moment, sweeping his hair out his face.

"He hurt you, Tesoro. Even he knows what he did was wrong. You are his regina, his queen. He should never have even looked at you the wrong way, yet look at the way you flinch when anyone touches your back. That was him, I'll bet."

"That's not an excuse to hurt someone, Luca," she scolded lightly. Luca got up off of the Capo reluctantly, scowling. She rushed to the side of the Capo, who was groaning lightly on the floor and bleeding. Mae knelt down next to him and tilted his face gently so that she could see it.

"This needs ice, it's going to all swell up," she said gently. She helped him sit up and instructed him to sit forward and pinch his nose to try and stop the flow of blood. He did as she asked without looking at her. She frowned when Luca grabbed her hand and pulled her up, towards him.

"Angelo, he will be fine. Come with me," she shook her head at him.

"Luca, he needs help. You punched him up pretty bad,"

"Only to you, regina. I've had worse than this without treatment, I'll be fine. It's only a punch, nothing bad," the Capo shocked her into silence. Luca snarled at him, before aiming a kick at the Capo. He did nothing.

"You will thank your regina for helping you. You don't deserve her help, not after what you did. Di 'grazie, per l'amor del cazzo!" He hissed the last bit in Italian.

"Luca, come on, let's leave. Please, stop hurting people." Luca softened at the sight of her beautiful big eyes filling up with tears. He turned towards the door, scoffing at the sight of his Capo on the floor, and tenderly lead Mae towards the door. She followed.

"Luca, are you going to see your father? Capo Marco said he was here," Luca groaned. "Oh stop moaning, if you actually want to marry me like you said, I'll have to meet them anyway."

He looked at her then, stopping in the hallway. "There's no question about whether I will marry you or not. You will be my wife."

"And where's the rock?" She teased gently. He paled.

"I'm sorry, my love. I will-I will get you the best one. No! We can choose one together. I don't mind, do you want it to be a surprise? I'm such an awful boyfriend!" Mae giggled at his panicked state.

"Well, I wouldn't say awful - you are pretty good in bed." Jeanette's snarky voice floated down the hallway. Mae giggled some more. Luca looked her with so much adoration in his eyes that it scared her.

"Look, would you please come and talk to your parents? Your mother hates me ever since she found your clothes in my room, and your father is permanently suspicious that I'm a spy. Talk about stereotyping. Anyway, I don't want to be scrutinised any longer. You guys can take over, they're in your office." Jeanette sashayed off the other way.

"Luca?" Mae hesitantly asked. He looked at her, motioning for her to go on. "Will your parents hate me too?"
