The sun filtered through the crack in the curtain and I struggled to open my eyes, blinking a few time to adjust to the bright warm sun. It was Wednesday and for once it was a nice day in London from what I could already see. But as nice as this day might be, my mind was brought back to my miserable life.
I was in my new apartment, it was tiny and I could barely afford the rent, to say my life had changed drastically over this past week is an understatement. I found out my boyfriend of 5 years had been cheating on me for a good two of those years, and he took everything from me and I just didn't have the energy to fight him. On that last night with him, he caught me packing my stuff and it ended in the biggest fight, he hit me and I ran.
So back to the present back to my small little life, little ol' Emily, with nothing to do. I had spent a couple of days feeling sorry for myself but I wasn't going to let him get to me. I decided I needed to get out of the house and soak up some of that beautiful sunshine. I put on my white summer dress and a little bit of makeup, picked up my keys and walked out of my apartment. It was a short walk to the park and my happiness levels were rising and I smiled a little.
To say what happened next would be what happens in your wildest dreams. It was like a romantic movie and something that I thought I would never happen to me.
I had been staring at the ground as I walked but Just at the right moment I looked up and it was then that I saw him, I couldn't stop staring, his brown eyes filled with such expressive emotions and that smile, his perfect white teeth and then I realised that I was just staring at this man because he had stopped what he was doing and smiled at me while trying to cover a laugh. I stupidly just waved at him smiling and my cheeks bright burning red, I put my head back down and walked quicker than usual hoping to get past him as quickly as possible. But then he intercepted me and stood in front of me so I couldn't keep walking. He stuck out his hand in order for me to shake and said the 4 words that would change my life forever ...
"Hi, I'm Richard Hammond"
