"What sort of wedding would you like?" Paul asked her as they sat watching TV later that evening.

"Erm, to be honest, I'd like to get married in church if I could. Would you mind that?"

He shook his head. "No. Mike got married in church so I know dad'll like it if we did." He replied, "Would you want your dad to marry us?"

"Yes, although if dad did the service, there'd be no one to give me away!"

"Very true." Paul smiled and kissed her. "The million dollar question though would be married BEFORE the baby comes or after?"

"What do you think?"

"Definitely before!" said Paul earnestly, "Dad will go mad when he finds out that you're expecting without me failing to make an honest woman of you before baby arrives!"

"You haven't told him I'm pregnant yet?"

Paul shook his head. "I was too embarrassed Lucy....not about the baby, but that I'd screwed things up with you. I just couldn't face dad being so disappointed in me for treating you so badly, especially when I was feeling so crap anyway. I'll tell him very soon though." He looked at her face, "You're not upset I haven't told him are you? You do understand?"

Lucy thought back to the emotional state Paul had been in and how fragile his state of mind had been. She shook her head. "I understand perfectly why you didn't say anything Paul. I really do."

"Thanks Lucy!" He kissed her, "I think I found and angel the day I met you, do you know that?" He hugged her. "In fact, let's go and call dad now and tell him."

"Paul, why not wait until we speak to my dad, then we could tell your dad about the baby and tell him the date we've set for the wedding at the same time. He might take the news better?"

"That's a brilliant idea Lucy! When shall we talk to your dad?"

"How about I arrange a time for the three of us to get together? We could talk then."

"Perfect! We're getting married." Paul whooped in delight, "I can't wait!"

Lucy started laughing. "Well, you'll have to wait a little longer." She kissed him then stood up.

"Where are you going Lucy?"

"I need to go home Paul. Dad'll be wondering where I am."

"Oh," he seemed disappointed, "I thought you might stay tonight, that's all."

"I would be..." Lucy paused awkwardly. She sat down again next to him, "Paul, I know dad's worried about me making important decisions and rushing things. I don't want dad to think I'm moving too fast. We're moving too fast even. Let me talk to him about us and what we want to do, then I'll come back and stay permanently."

Paul nodded. "OK. You're right. I could see how your dad might think staying over already is too much too soon." He stood up. "I'll walk you home then shall I?" He held his hand out to her.

The walk home was lovely. It was just becoming twilight and the evening was still warm. The streets were quiet and the pair walked undisturbed. Once Paul had walked Lucy to her front door, they kissed deeply.

"I'll see you tomorrow though, won't I?" asked Paul.

"Of course."

"I'm in the studio again if you would like to join me. We could have lunch then spend the rest of the day at my house, or here?"

"That sounds lovely," Lucy kissed him again, "I'll talk to dad. See if he's free tomorrow afternoon, OK?"

"Perfect....just like you!"
