When The Popular Noticed Me....

Chapter 1

Hey.

Im Mason Halstorm. You probably don't recognize my name because I've spent the last 11 years of my school life in the shadows, being part of the nerd group. Now its the first day of senior year and me and my best friend Travis are walking into the doors of Westbrook High School located in the sunny state of Florida. I moved to Florida the summer before 6th grade so I've pretty much lived here most of my life. Even tho I've lived here awhile I've never really gotten used to the constant bullying and name calling thing. Like I said me and Travis aren't  exactly the coolest people at school. In fact id say we're pretty much the most uncool nerds Westbrook has ever seen. 

Anyway, we walk in with our books in our hands and our heads down trying to be as unnoticeable  as the past 3 years of high school. We quickly walk to the office and safely get our schedule from the middle aged lady at the desk. ''aww nice man we have almost every class together, except like 2'' Travis says as we walk out of the front office. ''sweet'' I say as we grin to each other. We then start to walk to our lockers which conveniently are next to each other this year.

 ''What are you two girls happy about'' we hear coming from a few feet down the hallway. At the same time we look up to see our number one bully Bryan Smith smirking with his posse of meathead jocks standing behind him like he's a god or something. Bryan and his friends (more like minions) have been terrorizing me and Travis since the beginning of middle school. I don't even know why because I've never been mean or rude to him in anyway. I guess he just does'nt like people who don't bow down to him like the rest of this school does. 

''N-nothing w-we w-were just uhhh going to our lockers.'' Travis stuttered looking at the floor. ''O-o r-really.'' Bryan said clearly mocking us as the rest of his ''squad'' were laughing like they thought it was the funniest thing in the world. We just continued to look down since we couldn't go anywhere because him and his jerk face friends were blocking the entire freaking hallway. ''Whatever'' he sneered as he walked passed us but not before very forcefully pushing us to the ground. 

''Come on lets go were gonna be late'' I said as we dusted ourselves off from the floor. Just as I said that we both looked at the clock to see we only had 10 minutes until the first bell rang!! Now to most people 10 minutes is a lot of time before class but not to us, we've never always been at LEAST 5 minutes early. As I'm sprinting towards my locker I look at my schedule to see I have math, of the only classes I have without Travis. I gather my things and make my way towards the math room. As usual i'm the first one there. 

I sit and wait patiently for class to start making sure I have everything I need. Students slowly start to trickle in until the final bell rings. The once asleep teacher makes his way to the front of the room and writes his name on the board. ''Hello, my name is-''. He gets cut off by the sound of the door swinging open in and walks the most beautiful girl I have ever laid my eyes on.

 Dani Peterson. I have had the biggest crush on her since the first time I've ever seen her. The thing is most of the male population at Westbrook also has a massive crush on her. She has long beautiful blonde hair, cute freckles, and the bluest and most gorgeous eyes ever.Her liking me back will pretty much never happen considering she's the most popular girl in school. And she's dating....... you guessed it Mr. Bryan Smith himself. So I've come to peace with the fact that she probably dose'nt even know my name and probably never will. 

All eyes are on her as she bursted through the door. ''Im guessing you're Danielle Peterson considering you are the only one who's late'' the teacher spits out at her. ''Yes sir that me, and its's just Dani'' she states confidently. ''Well then Dani I would appreciate it if you would take your seat and stop disrupting my class.''  ''Sure thing'' she responds. I watch her as she scans her eyes over the room for an empty chair. We were all sitting in double desks and of course me being the unpopular, uncool nerd I am the only empty spot left was next to me. I noticed this before she did and quickly averted my eyes from her so when she realized she had to sit next to me I wouldn't be awkwardly staring at her. 

Out of the corner of my eye I see her bouncily walk over to our double desk and sit down. She openly smiles and waves at me which I wasn't expecting considering if anybody saw her talking or looking at me it would ''ruin'' her reputation.  We both get settled and everyones eyes went back to the teacher. ''As I was saying before I was interrupted'' he spits out staring at Dani. She seemed unfazed by it tho. ''I am your math teacher Mr. White and I hope your comfortable in the seats you sitting in because these will be your seats for the rest of the year! 

As he said those words it took a few seconds for the realization to hit me.

I would be sitting next to Dani freaking Peterson for the whole entire year.

I hope you guys enjoyed the first chapter!! This is my first story on Wattpad and i'm really excited to keep writing this book. Let me know any ideas or thoughts for the story in the comments. I will definitely be reading and probably responding to all the ones I get.
