I was asked by @thedancerclaire to review their book The Grove. I found it to be interesting and quite fun actually. The plot was interesting and, in my opinion, rather unique. There was one big thing, though, that I found wrong that could use some addressing.

Summary

   Welcome to the Grove.

Two years after a devastating sickness swept the planet, the surviving human population barricaded itself into walled cities, shutting off the outside. While these self-preserving men and women tried to repopulate the lost Earth, the remaining scraps of society, the children orphaned by disease, were thrust into the wilderness. This is the Grove. My people, my tribe. When the world denied us salvation, we banded together with only one common goal: survive. We call ourselves the Ravens. Welcome to the wild.-------xXx-------

Like I said before I really liked the plot. It was original and fun to read. There was one major thing that did need to change.

I Never felt attached to any of the characters

You kept introducing characters without explanation. They were just suddenly there. There were so many characters at one time that I couldn't keep track of who was who and I would forget who you were talking about. I think that when you are writing a story it should be focused around three-five main characters and if a character isn't a big part of the story it shouldn't be given a name. I noticed you did this a lot.

James came and met Micheal, Vin, Johnny, Jimmy, Bob, Steve, George, Nessa, Alex, and Phoebe at the gate of the camp.

Well maybe not to this extreme but you get my point. We don't need to know those random people's names. We just need to know that they are there.

The characters that did seem to be main characters never really had very much development either. This was limiting my attachment to them as well. If they don't feel real or relatable I don't care for them and it tends to turn me off of a book entirely. It's one thing to have a good plot but if your characters aren't great then the whole book is just bleh...

I think that's pretty much all I have to say that's negative.
