Seo Changbin paced up and down the halls of his father's office.  He wasn't particularly excited to hear the news, but he was still curious. Finally, after around forty minutes of examining the floor tiles, his father stepped out, and called him in.  He sat down across from him, and next to the man he was all too familiar with.

"Tsumetai," the doctor said while he cleaned his glasses.

"Tsunami?!" Changbin's father asked frantically.

"Tsumetai," Changbin corrected.

"What the hell is that?  I've worked in this field for years, and I've never heard of it."  Dr. Seo leaned back in his chair and scoffed.

"Neither have we.  No one has ever seen anything like this.  It's incurable as far as we know."  Dr. Kim sighed and glanced at Changbin.  He wouldn't meet his gaze, and he looked out the window, suddenly finding the parking lot more interesting.

"What do we do then?  Is he going to just die?"  Dr. Seo questioned.

"Dad!"  Changbin's head popped up, and he looked at his father with tears in his eyes.

"What?  If it's going to kill you I need to know!"

"You don't have to say it like that!"  The young boy looked back down.

"Like what?" He raised his voice.

Changbin stood up and pushed his chair back.  It crashed against the bookcase, and the room was silent.

"Like you know i'm going to die already!  Like i'm already gone!"  He left the room, making sure to slam the door behind him.  He stood in the hall and buried his head in his hands.  Even in the hall, he could still hear the two doctors talking.

"Where did this even come from?"

"Well, his heart is...colder than normal."

"What does that mean?"

"The temperature!  It's nearly frozen solid!"

Changbin stopped crying, and scooted closer to the door.

"Last we checked it was around 5°C (41°F).  It has slowly gotten worse over the past few months.  We've tried everything...everything that wouldn't kill him."

"What are you going to do with him now?"

"He's going to die eventually.  Once the temperature drops too low, it'll eventually just stop beating."

"How long does he have?"

"At this rate, not much longer."

A week after...

"What am I supposed to wear?"  Changbin asked his father.  Dr. Seo stood in the door frame lazily with a dark expression.

"Whatever you see fit.  You'll be wearing it for awhile."  He turned and left his son alone.  Changbin sighed, and picked out an outfit as he would any other day. He definitely didn't expect to be wearing a hoodie on his last day of life.

The ride to the lab was long.  However, neither of them said a word.  Changbin's father gripped the steering wheel tighter.  What was he supposed to say to his son?  Good luck?  Have fun?  Be home by eight?

"How is this gonna work?"  Changbin whispered.

"Well, they're going to heavily sedate you.  Then you'll just...freeze," Dr. Seo replied.

"Lovely, I can't wait."

"Can you not be sarcastic today?  It's the last time I'll ever see you breathing, and you act like this."

Changbin rolled his eyes, and continued looking out the window.  They arrived at the lab just as the sun came up.

60 YEARS LATER (2077)

Felix Lee was running around the classroom searching for his essay.  It was due today, and he was nearly failing.  This essay was everything.

"Where where wheRe wheRE WHERE THE HELL IS IT?  UGH!"  He retraced his steps, and ended up in the preservation room.  It was highly off limits, but he was desperate, okay?  He quickly, but quietly, opened the door to the back room.  He was shocked to see a frozen kid, probably around his age, in a tank in the corner of the room.  Felix let curiosity get the best of him, and he approached the tank.

"Why am I so scared?  It's not like he's gonna wake up," he muttered to himself.  He searched the perimeter of the tank, even though he knew his essay wouldn't be there.  Felix leaned against the wall opposite of the tank.

"Who were you?"  He asked.

At that moment, he spotted a newspaper slip and a name tag taped to the base.

FROZEN TEEN TO BE SHIPPED TO AUSTRALIAN COLLEGE

Changbin, Seo
Male, 18
Preserved:  15 Sept. 2017

Felix studied Changbin for a while. He didn't look dead, if he wasn't frozen he could pass as a normal person.

"Geez, it's cold in here." Felix rubbed the goosebumps on his arms, and went to find the thermostat. He twisted the knob until it read 25 °C (77 °F).

"Who's in there? This area is off limits to students!"

Felix realized that was his cue to leave. He left the back room, and locked the door. He ducked behind a desk until he heard the other person leave. While behind the desk, he miraculously found his essay.

The next morning, in the back room...

It was dark, and very warm. He blinked his eyes a few times before reality hit him. He was alive, and breathing. He felt warm, he felt. He could feel his heart beating slightly. He felt the air rushing through his lungs.

He desperately tried to remember everything from before. How long was he 'dead'? Was his family near?

Were they even alive? Was anyone he knew alive? Was he in Korea anymore?

He stood up, careful not to slip on any of the water. The signs were in english, so that answered one of his questions. He slowly opened the only door in the room. It led to a classroom, which seemed to be empty.

That helped, at least he knew it was either early morning or afternoon.

"Holy shit."

A blonde boy with freckles had just entered the room.

"Aren't you supposed to be...dead?"

Author's Note
Heyo! This is a Changlix fic if you didn't catch on already. I'm trying my best to make it realistic-ish (honestly what am I even saying, this whole plot isn't realistic). I hope it's enjoyable, and you can somewhat enjoy my horrible writing.
