Eight years later.

"The snow is melting" she said resting her head on her arms."The ice on the lake is gone too you know." 

 I lend over the balcony to see the lake that was once cover in ice but only snow lined its banks. I did not share her enthusiasm for the departing snow. 

"Yes I know, it has been gone for two days now." I said looking at her. "Will you miss it?" She looked at me surprisingly, as she signed when she spoke; her voices came slow and soft. 

"Very much, just watching the moon over the ice was really wonderful." she said shifting from one foot to the next as she lend over balcony.

"Well I will be missing watching you dance on the ice and under the moon it really is beautiful you know." 

"Thank you," she smiled sweetly. That was one of the thing I like about her, her soft worm sweet smile she taught me everything I needed to know about being a young lady. She even schooled me, thanks to her I can read poem's in spinach and French and many other thing that will come in handy later. She said one's ‘I believe in sharing knowledge that way we want be ignorant fools, with just pretty face's.’ But no one can know of that she taught we more than I needed to know. 

She is a mystery to me this woman who has being my friend, teacher, and many times through; broking bone deep, cuts, my doctor, and even my mother.

"Gigi, Gigi." 

"Yes my apologies. I wasn't paying attention, what were you saying?" 

"You silly child I thought we nip that habit in the butt" she giggled "Anyway I was saying that I wish you could dance with me on the ice you seem to love it and you know the entire move as well." 

"So do I, but you know as well as I do thee is way. I can't leave before he comes if he ever makes up his mind to come.” Look at my hands, he has to come. “Do you remember when you tried to sneak me out to dance with you that was one of the best time I have had here." 

"Yes it was fun wasn't it, but I never believe that you would have been punished for it."

"Well given the number of time I have tried to run, I can see why and I would have run too if I wasn't with you. I don't want you to get in trouble for me." there was a sudden knock on the door then it opened and in walk tom. 

"How are my two beautiful ladies doing today?" 

"What are you doing here?"Ann said, with a more chilling tone to her voice. 

"Hello to you too Ann, anyway Fisher, wants to see you in his offer." 

"What now. Your joking today is my day off." 

"Yeah he's in there pretty pissed all I can say is I do not want to be you." he said folding his arm across his chest and shaking his head. 

"Will I guess there goes the rest of my day, sorry Gigi I was really looking to spend the day with you." she said in a soft apologetic voice. 

"It's alright I will read one of my books, I don't want to keep you from work." I said hugging her. She cross the room, only to stopping a few inches as the door. 

"You’re not coming Tom." she said as she watched him take a seat. 

"Me, nope this is my job watching the prisoner." He replayed pointing a finger at me. I could feel his eye on me.
