"they say that that house down that street is cursed..."

wang-ho turned to glance at the house that kyung-ho, his best friend slash co-worker was pointing at. it was an old, antique-looking mansion, something you'd expect to see in a classic haunted house movie. It was the odd one out, as the other houses looked habitable and not as broken down as this house was.

some of its windows were broken, some can't be closed and were just left open. the paint on the wall had faded into a dull, ominous grey, giving off a creepy vibe. the lawn was untended, with weed growing uncontrollably, shrouding the front yard in a thick layer of green.

everything about that house screamed "do not enter!".

but wang-ho didn't believe his friend though. he thought that perhaps there was a sweet old man in there, too worn to actually tend to the growing mess in the yard and living off a pension so small he had barely enough yo live, what more repair anything. or maybe a poor family lived there.

or maybe the house was really abandoned.

but still, ghosts didn't exist!

kyung-ho narrowed his eyes at wang-ho's silence.

"what, you don't believe me?" he accused.

wang-ho shook his head. "hyung, don't you think we're too old to believe in such things? of course i don't believe in you."

kyung-ho sighed at the younger boy. "well, there's a reason why none of us at the tigers pizzeria dare to deliver anything to that house. creepy coincidence but many of our delivery boys went missing or quit their jobs after delivering pizzas to that house. hence why they say it's cursed."

wang-ho shrugged. "well, whatever. i don't really care. if it's my job to deliver something there, i'd do it. our boss is giving a bonus to anyone who accepts trips to that house, right?"

"boss is only doing that because no one dares to deliver pizzas there," kyung-ho countered, "geez, i wonder why no one has called the cops yet."

wang-ho smiled at his hyung. he knows that kyung-ho was only like this because he was overprotective of him. after all, these two grew up together, and even graduated from the same schools. for now, they're working as pizza delivery boys in tigers pizzeria, a popular pizza chain in town.

"actually, the cops did come with a search warrant but nothing was off about the house besides its bad condition," wang-ho answered, "manager-nim told me that day."

kyung-ho sighed again. "fine, fine. just... be careful, okay? if ya ever get a job to send something there, bring me along."

"pfft, i can take care of myself, hyung."

or so he thought.
