(All characters in this story [Besides the talking animals and bugs, ya know] are real people)
"I'm going outside, mom!" I call to my mom who is inside, playing Candy Crush on her phone, sitting next to her boyfriend.
"Okay" she says, not even looking up. Before i close the door I hear Jerry, her boyfriend, say "I needed TWO MORE JELLIES!"
I shook my head and walked out into the warm sun. I took a deep breath, smelling the nice, warm, budding-on-summer Ohio air. We lived on about two acers of land filled with trees, grass, and flowers. I stepped onto the grass with my bare feet. I let out a sigh. I looked up and saw a big orange monarch butterfly flutter pass me and i think to myself. 'Wow, wouldent it be cool to be a butterfly?' I smile and walk a bit further out into the yard. I walk over to some of the trees and lean against it. I had always felt one with nature. 'I wish i were able to be small like a bug. not forever, but for like, a week. that would be cool.' I think.
After a few more hours of just being ouside in general, thinking, and playing with caterpillers, my imagintion going wild, i go inside.
"This game sucks" i hear Jerry say. I laugh and walk into the living room. "You shoud send me a ticket" jenny, My mom, says.
"Candy Crush is for old people" i reply, smiling.
my mom gasps. "It is not" she says and i shake my head.
"Even if i wanted to download that stupid game, i couldent. My phone is stupid and it doesnt have alot of space"
she scoffs. "Uninstall your stupid games and download it."
"Nah, i'm good" i reply and stand up. "Call me when dinners ready."
"Install Candy Crush and i will"
"I'll starve"
~Later that evening~
"Come down. Dinner's done!" My mom calls a few hours later.
I walk down after plugging my phone in and i see the table is all set. "What are we having?"
"Chicken salad" she says and my stomach growls.
"Sounds good"
We all sit down and start eating. "Woulden't it be cool to be a bug?"
""No?" jerry says and i shrug.
"I think it would be" mu mom laughs and shakes her head.
"You're so weird, Kyah"
We finish eating dinner and i decide to go back outside. I sit down in the muddle of the yard and sigh. my imagination soaring again. I suddenly hear a loud thump and i look over, seeing something glowing in the distance.
I get up and start to walk over to the thing, but my mom calls me to come inside. i sigh and go inside. "Tomorrow." i say t myself and go inside.
