Chapter Eight: The New Evil?

Harris: We should go. We have to meet up with the others, remember?

After waiting a few seconds, the fifteen year old genius received a response.

Ryan: I'll meet you later. Go ahead and go.

The black haired boy rolled his eyes.

"What's up?" Spyder inquired.

"We need to meet up with Leo, but Ryan isn't coming until later." Harris told him.

"Well, maybe there was something Ryley wanted him to do." Spyder guessed.

"That's just it. He's been doing all kinds of things for Ryley since they started dating." Harris stated.

"Dude come on. Look at her. Would you really say NO? She's hot." Spyder had replied.

Harris shook his head.

"Well, we all promised we wouldn't put relationships over Mech X4. And besides that, something doesn't feel right. I think there's something we're missing. And as much as-"

"Dude, how long have they been dating? Like a day or two. And yeah, those weird deals he was making with people is...new, but none of our business. We should wait this out." Spyder cut him off.

Harris crossed his arms.

"The last time you decided to wait something out, you only lasted a half hour before giving in." Harris said to him.

"Hey! It was eggnog bro! EGGNOG. You can't just say I'm happy living without that." Spyder defended himself.

Harris sighed. He walked past his friend, who followed his lead. The two went to the door and opened it.

"Later Ryles! We out!" Spyder shouted.

He didn't hear a response as the two headed out. Harris was quickly aware of the car parked in front. The driver rolled down the window. He leaned to his right.

"You guys coming in or not?" Mark quizzed.

The two freshman approached their transportation.

"Usually want to but you kick me out too fast." Spyder retorted as he hopped in.

Harris slid inside and buckled up. He closed the door as his friend was beside him.

"Where's Ryan?" Mark had asked them.

"Ryley." The two answered.

The jock rolled his eyes as he got out. He went to the front door. Spyder watched him go as Harris glanced at him. The sixteen year old headed inside to go and retrieve his brother. Spyder looked at Harris.

"Is he mad?" He questioned.

Harris shrugged.

"I don't know. But if Leo texted something important, then he has to go get him." He replied.

"Anndd....BOOM!"

Bernie stepped back from the creation.

"Woah! This is a game changer." Hannah reacted.

Ryley smiled.

"See, I told you this stuff was worth something." She told her boyfriend.

Ryan nodded.

"What are we gonna do with it?" He asked.

His girlfriend stood next to the new machine.
