Chapter 1: Mysterious Dog

*During Summer*



I was at home in the living room reading the Daily Profit since I had nothing better to do. I was in the middle of reading the front page that talks about Sirius Black, who was the first wizard ever to escape Askaban, until I heard a crack from outside. I put down the Daily Prophet and got out of the position I was in and went to the window while lifting back the curtain. It was sort of dark so it was hard to tell what was making the noise until I heard it again. Then I saw a black dog hiding behind a tree. Then it started growling. Soon, it started backing away until-



"Emily!" The voice of my mum called from the kitchen cutting my thought off.



"Yeah?" I asked her before looking out the window again, but the dog was already gone. 


"Go tell your dad that dinner is ready!!!!!!" Mum said. Dad is in the office, because he is a sports editor in the newspaper for muggles and right now is typing an article for this weeks newspaper since the duedate is in three days.



"Okay!" I said.



And with that, I went downstairs to the office and found dad on the computer right now and from what it looks like he is almost done.



"Dad, dinners ready" I said while knocking on the door. He sort of jumped, but then realized it was me.



"What? Oh, ok honey." He answered and with that we went upstairs and ate dinner.
