****cry alert****

after dinner, it was getting dark, but you could still see the snow falling on this beautiful Christmas Eve. they always go to church on Christmas Eve, as they could see their parents there. it was like always, they would put on their suits and head out to their white van. it was a nice van, but not very fancy. they've been offered limos and other fancy cars, but they've stuck with the original.

they all piled in the car, seokjin was driving, as namjoon was in the passenger seat. they made the maknaes  sit in the back, as hoseok and yoongi sat in the row in front of them, farther away from the door.

as soon as they got to the church, the maknaes ran to the door, leaving the hyung line to walk a bit faster than usual to catch up with them. when they finally got inside the church, they looked around for their parents, the rest of the church attenders roaming the pews, talking to other family members and friends.

but hoseok couldn't find his parents. his parents were fairly busy, but they would always find time to see their son. he couldn't even see his sister, but that wasn't much of a surprise as she had just debuted with her band. hoseok started getting worried. he pulled out his phone to text his parents.

'are you coming to church?' he texted his mom.

he expected an answer in at least five minutes, but still nothing. now he was very confused. there was no way that his mom just would ignore him. plus his mom always had her phone on her, so it was very strange for her not to give an immediate answer. he tried the same with his dad, but it was the same thing. no reply.

hoseok looked around him, seeing if his band mates have found their parents as well. he glanced over to see jimin standing next to him. he jumped back slightly, not expecting to see him.

"ji-jimin? why aren't you with your family?" he asked, still a bit startled.

"i saw you standing here alone, and i wanted to know if you wanted to hang out with me and my family...but i mean li-like, you don't have to.." jimin mumbled, staring at the ground, trying to hid his blush, a bit flustered.

hoseok giggled at the way jimin got nervous asking him a simple question.

"that would be nice, but are you sure they won't mind? i mean you rarely get to see your family.." hoseok trailed off, not wanting to ruin his family quality time.

"oh no, they love you!" jimin smiled brightly, looking back up at him.

hoseok smiled brightly and looked down at jimin, "then, okay, as long as I'm not intruding." he agreed.

jimin grabbed his hand and pulled him over to the pew that his family was seated at. hoseok kindly greeted them, shaking the boys's hands, hugging the girls. he talked with his family along with jimin as if nothing was wrong, but in the back of his mind he was thinking about his own family.

when the priest finally got in front of the podium, the sanctuary went silent. they all listened in to what the priest had to say, laughing at his jokes and singing when asked. soon enough, they were making their last prayer.

"let's pray for.." the priest took a second to look down at the prayer list he was given. once he saw who was at the top of the list, his eyes widened.

everyone's heart raced, confused on why the priest wasn't saying anything. hoseok just wanted him to say something so they could finally get rid of the heavy weight in the air, full of awkwardness and nervousness.

"l-let's pray for our beloved mrs. and mr. Jung." the priest said, looking among the filled pews for hoseok.

hoseok's eyes widened. why would they need to pray for his parents? what could possibly have happened? he wondered of multiple reasons, feeling tons of eyes landing on him. his eyes watered, but he held back his tears. he was not about to cry in frond of everyone. but he could especially feel a pair of eyes, almost stinging through his skin. he looked back to see who it belonged to, his eyes glossy.

it was yoongi.

he didn't expect it. yoongi's eyes stared into his own, making him remember the moment when they held hands earlier. speaking of, he felt his right hand warm immediately. he looked over to meet his eyes with jimin. he flashed a sad smile, obviously broken on the inside.

"they just...passed away in a car accident." the priest explained softly into the microphone sadly.

that was too much for hoseok to handle. he hid his face into jimin's shoulder and cried softly, not able to hold it back anymore. he heard five pairs of feet hit the floor, followed by footsteps. hoseok looked up to see himself surrounded by five familiar faces. it was the rest of the band members. he let go of jimin's hand, standing up to hug the rest. he cried hard, not expecting this type of news on such a perfect night. jimin stood up as well and hugged him from behind, but soon let go when the decided to walk outside so the church could go on.

the members stayed silent as they let hoseok cry as he sat on the sidewalk step in front of the church. yoongi sat down next to him and hugged him tightly, unlike what he would do for any of the other members. he smiled at yoongi's warmth for a split second, but he went back to crying after he hugged yoongi back.

"w-why?!" he cried out in between his sobs.

yoongi let him grief, not saying anything, but rubbing his back.  after a while, his sobbing was over, followed by sniffles.

"now we'll talk and try to make you feel better later, but let's finish this real quick, there's only about fifteen minutes left." yoongi whispered, his voice soft.

hoseok nodded, not able to say a word without crying. yoongi took him by the hand and they all walked back into the church and sat down without saying a word. hoseok sat by jimin and his family again and sighed, holding jimin's hand.
