A tuesday rain seems incoming. The sky was blue, but not as light as yesterday. A quiet darker one with bold cumulus spread around, however the air is getting warmer, its clear enough to explain why most of the kids are lazily laying down to stole a quick nap while the class is postponed since my math teacher escaped no-where and left some integral tasks to do. there i was, painting a cardboard with my own fetish colour--blue skies--volunteering as the one who'll stay awake and setted up as an alarm for my sleeping classmates, in case a random teacher would bust us 'dead' like this.
I dont know if it was a coincidence or not, i've known that guy for a whole senior year. That guy who have been a good companion in our club team. That guy who i had never seen in despair, complained, or even yelled to others. That guy who soothes and blasts my mind at the same time. That guy who stole my attention for the past three years.
He was appearing like ghost whose head dumbfounded through the doors, seeking for someone who is obviously not me, to give today's selling revenue, as usual. his numb face is conviously brought as his legs stepped in to make a safe distance from the sleeping girls on the front of the class, got no choice but caught my presence in the corner of the class--the only proof of living sign and the only one for being conscious.
I heard several countable sounds of raindrops hitting the rooftop, making a beginning period of a long rain. But rains actually doesnt matter, this guy's matter.
"She felt asleep." Told me like i'm asking him to leave but honestly not, since i want him to stay longer.
"Of course," I could hear his chuckles by the end of what he said, glancing once more to a girl to whom he would give the money to, and back down to see my face. "Could you give this to her later? I need to get the change about 50 cents from it."
My eyes drowning deep into his orbs, straight like a dumb statue, but 3 seconds later i got up from wandering no-where and quickly pick up my wallet and give a 50 cents onto his long opened fingers, "take mine first, i'll tell her to change it to me after she wakes up."
His orbs is brighter than before, eyelids are wider and automatically tilting his head slightly as a response at my sudden kindness.
"Are you su-" a quick lightning flashed through the window and giving a loud storm which cut off his sentences and startled me out at the same time, causing my hand which held a 50 cents was accidentally grabbing his hands right after i gave him the money. The worst phobia running into my veins and weakened my adrenaline. He realized what situation i'm in and lowered his body to make the same height as mine, "that was a loud and early one, are you alright?"
Feeling dumb and guilty, i pull in my hands quickly and head down my face to defend any eye contact. "I'm sorry, i was a bit too much.."
"No, its okay. I had seen you curling in fear of storms when the club held an article project until late."
"You did?! I knew that i was so childish at the moment, you shouldnt tell me, its embarassing-"
"No need to, i guess that's humanical. My mom's also afraid of loud storms and over vibes." He smiled as he stand straight normally like before.
"By the way, thankyou for the change." he walked back and waves slightly at me before stepping carefully between the desks and chairs, eventually made his way through the door and dissapear.
