Loretta sat on the vacant swing set, swaying back and forth. Her foster parents didnt want her anymore, and her agent was trying to find another home, but it was no use. Nobody really wanted Loretta, at least in her mind at the time. She was the gentle age of 6, a little girl, facing bigger problems. She didn't know who her parents were, her agent, Charlotte, had refused to tell her. As far as Loretta was concerned, the world was an awful place.
Suddenly, Loretta had the urge to run around. She wasn't really the one to be reckless, but she felt like she needed to be. She hopped off the swings, and ran into the clearing behind the playground. Her tiny feet traveled and fast as her legs would let her, which wasn't that fast. She had almost reached the treeline, when Charlotte had come outside, and started chasing her. The adrenaline courses through Loretta's blood, she had never been bad before. As she made it only a few feet into the trees, she tripped on something. She snapped her head back to see what it was, a book. It was small, and had a red leather cover. Loretta gazed in amazement, the book looked so special, so pretty. She tucked it into her tattered Barbie purse she carried around. The purse would be nothing special to the naked eye, but to Loretta, this purse was everything. And she hoped to make the book another item for safe keeping.
Charlotte grabbed her by the arm, and practically dragged Loretta into the building. Once inside, Loretta sat in a boring room while her agent talked numbers with potential foster parents.
