The character's in this story are my Fan Characters that I created. If you know the characters from Sonic the Hedgehog than you will understand the whole, "fox girl/boy" or "hedgehog" thing. Although, Sonic and his gang are not accually in this story at all. Not even mentioned. I do not own Sonic in any way, making this(I think) what they call a "fan fiction".

Sooo... Let's get Started! :D

Chapter 1

“Olive! Olive! Olive wake up! We’re here!” The truck rattled to a stop. Olive slowly opened her eyes. A white fox-boy stood, almost in her face, wide eyed, “Oh, good. I began to think the worst when you wouldn't respond.”

They had hitched a ride in an eighteen- wheeler about two and a half days ago and were starving because of the lack of food. The two fox teenagers were in the cargo area of the truck; the driver has never known that they’re there and they planned to keep it that way. The fox-boy got up and stretched. He was completely white and wore a black leather jacket and rough looking jeans. Her brother was probably the most handsome guy out of any she had seen- and that's saying a lot. He was like the dreamy type in every girl's fantasy. Ever since she was little, Olive would tease him about being albino. Although their father was very much albino himself and her mother was that of a reddish color, she was a grey and black fox. It never made since to Olive that she was so much different than the rest of her family, but she never care one bit. She loved them. They loved her. That was all that mattered to Olive.

Olive sat, thinking about her life and smiled. It was perfect. There was nothing that could possibly make it any better. Olive’s stomach growled and snapped her back into reality. Everything that she has just daydreamed, was gone. Her parents were no longer alive. She no longer lived in her home for it was burned down when they were brutally attacked. Almost everything that she loved had been wiped off the face of the earth, except for her brother. She was lucky the have him at all. He was the one that would always stay by her side and get her through the toughest of trials. And now, that trial is surviving. They had no idea where they were going. All they knew is that they had to leave.

A grin crossed over her brother’s face after hearing Olive's stomach growl, “Since we’re here we might as well find ourselves something to eat first. We can’t continue on an empty stomach.” Flicking his tail, the truck’s back door began to slide up, revealing the outside world. Bright light seeped into the truck.

Shielding her eyes from the light, Olive saw a glimpse of two figures standing, arms crossed, silent outside of the truck. Immediately, Olive’s brother grabbed her and used his magic to make them both invisible.

Note: Italicised words are words that are spoken through the minds of the characters. They are not spoken outloud because of the fear of someone hearing them. I call them, "mind messages". It starts with Olive's brother.

          Be quiet. I sense danger.

Show-off. You know I can’t use magic yet and you still use it around me.

          I’m sorry. It was instinct.

As soon as the truck door finished opening, they could clearly see the two figures. One, a golden hedgehog girl. She wore a denim long sleeved jacket and denim shorts. Her eyes shone with a brilliant green. Probably age 17 or 18. The other was a green hedgehog, a female also. Looked about 16 or 17 with brown eyes. She had a cream-colored loose fitting hoodie and jeans.

The golden one rolled her eyes, “I can see you.”

The green one put a hand near her back, revealing a blade, “Come out or there will be serious consequences.” She didn't seem completely serious but she didn't sound sarcastic either.

They could be tricking us! They might not be able to see us! Olive urgently sent that message before her brother let his guard down.

No! I can’t let anything happen to you. Even if it means getting me hurt in the process. If they can see us I don’t want you hurt.

What are you talking about? I can take care of myself.

“Do we really have to prove that we can see you? Listen, All we want is the girl. Hand her over and nobody gets hurt.” The green one sighed unhappily.

Olive’s brother growled, “Never.” Upon talking, her brother stopped the invisibility. Silence filled the area. The two hedgehogs were obviously thinking of a plan.

The golden one’s ear twitched, “What are your names?

“My name is-” Olive’s brother stopped her.

“This is Olive. I am her brother, Ash. We’re on our way to… a place far away. I hope it didn’t bother you that we hitched a ride in your vehicle. We are very sorry.” Ash flashed his famous smile. One that could light up a darkened room. One that could make any girl fall for him, of course.

The golden hedgehog blushed, but the green one stayed unaffected by him, “I’m actually glad you did. Without this little incident, we would have never met the two of you… By the way, my name is Locket. My sister,” Locket waved her hand to the green hedgehog, “Her name isn’t that important.” Locket seemed completely taken by Ash's looks and sinserity.

Just as Olive thought all was going well, Ash grunted, “It’s Key isn’t it? You two are from a gang. Your leader is Cyber the wolf.” Yup. Definatly the wrong thing to say.

As soon as Ash was done talking Key ran with great agility at him, blade in hand. “You aren’t supposed to know that.” Key raised her blade and somersaulted into the air. Without hesitating, Ash pushed Olive behind him and stood in a defense battle stance.

Eyes widened, Olive watched as Ash created a shield. The shield stretched to the point of where the truck’s back door was and stopped. Olive had never known Ash had obtained so much power in only the little time since he had gained his magic abilities. With a bash, Key hit the dome-like shield and fell back to the ground.

Locket immediately was at her side, “Key? What happened?”

“Looks like the boy can use magic. He created a shield so I couldn’t get into the trunk. Ugh! That little-”

“Key! That’s enough. We’ll leave them here. It’s not like they can get anywhere with a vehicle out of gas.” Locket pulled Key up off the ground and flicked her tail at Olive and Ash. Before they left, Locket turned her head around and winked at Ash, smiling. They quietly walked off.
