Dualscar wasn't sure how long he had been dead when the other's unconscious body had shown up on his ship, or why it had, but he did know that he was glad Kankri had.
The mutant was currently curled up against his chest, chirring softly in his sleep. With a wistful sigh Dualscar stroked his hair and kissed his forehead. The boy was merely a fraction of his own size, however, that never kept him from thinking he was a god in a sense.
Well, not literally, but there were days where he pretended like he was. Talking for endless hours while Dualscar would typically be doing work, although, the afterlife was much less tedious when needing work done. Instead of grumbling at the noise as he shuffled through papers he could find himself typically relaxed with a cup of tea and sat in his chair by the fireplace with the other in his lap.
At first, he would admit, he was disgusted with the other. Just another mutant in his eyes. However, the more he had gotten to know the noisy runt the quicker he became flushed for him.
Yes. Dualscar Ampora, terrifying Orphaner of Alternia, was flushed for a small, helpless, pitiable mutant. A cold chill came through the window, making the curtains shiver along with the small troll. Frowning, Dualscar closed the window.
The cold had never bothered him, then again he was born to embrace the cold, icy waters of Alternia. Kankri was not. Even with the smallest quip of cold in the air endless complaints would come from his mutant.
Slowly Dualscar stood, floorboards creaking beneath his feet. He glanced over his shoulder at Kankri who now was entangled in the blankets, purring happily. Adorable.
His fins flicked before walking over to his fireplace and hung a kettle full of water over it. No matter what the other was going to complain about the cold when he woke up, no avoiding it, might as well have a hot cup of tea ready for when he did.
Then again, it wasn't Dualscar's fault the Vantas decided to wear only his shirt, Dualscar's shirt, to bed. The thing practically fit him like a dress, rather than a shirt.
Almost as if on cue Kankri woke with a soft yawn and stretched out before shivering,"Dualscar, I thought I asked you to make sure the room didn't get too cold." Aaaand here we go. "I understand that for yourself the extra warmth isn't needed, however, for those closer to my blood color it is more considerate to make sure the air isn't too cold. Furthermore-"
Kankri stopped at a finger at his lips and huffed,"You're right, I'm sorry. I ought to been more considerate to such a delicate rose such as yourself."
"Dualscar!" Kankri widened his eyes and flushed darkly, which made the seadweller chuckle softly. So easy to fluster.
"Oh hush, at least I made you tea." Dualscar went to the kettle and took it off it's hook. He then poured hot water into a mug, threw in some tea leaves and added beast milk to cool it. He then brought the mug to Kankri, who was still shivering.
With a gentle hum Dualscar removed his cape and wrapped it around Kankri while he kissed him softly. Kankri then curled up in the cape, sipping at his tea quietly, seeming more content now. Spoiled.
Dualscar sat next to him on the bed and pulled him into his lap, holding the other close as his fins fluttered. Kankri gave a smug smile,"Your fins are flapping again."
"It's cause I've got the troll I'm flushed for in my lap." He pecked Kankri's lips.
Sighing softly Kankri kissed Dualscar's cheek, holding his tea close,"Flushed for you too."
