For the first few minutes of the car ride, Angel and I were silent, the only sound the faint pop songs coming through from the stereo. Finally, Angel spoke. Or, rather, she laughed. That beautiful, musical sound. I wanted to hear it forever. "What?" I asked. I saw her shake her head out of the corner of my eye. "You listen to this stuff?" "No, my sister does." SHIT. "Who I forgot at school. Here, text Luke for me and tell him to pick her up." As I handed her my phone, our fingers brushed. There wasn't any of that electricity shit, but her skin was irresistibly soft. She didn't open my phone, just kind of held it out in front of her, looking at it confusedly. "What?" I asked again. "You just gave me your phone." Angel said. I nodded. "You don't even know me." She said. I chuckled. "So? I don't have anything bad on there. I got nothing to hide." She finally began texting Luke. "So you don't have, like, nudes or something on here?" Angel giggled. I laughed with her. "Now, I didn't say to look through my gallery." I joked. After a few minutes, she set my phone down again. "So, we've been circling the same block for four minutes. Would you like to tell me which house you live in?" Angel jolted, and I glanced over as a lovely shade of pink spread across her face. "Wow, you must think I'm an idiot. Uh, it's the light blue one, coming up." I pulled to a stop in front of the neatly trimmed lawn, questions entering my mind. She never even mentioned CJ. Angel reached for the door handle, then paused. "Um... do you think... well we didn't really talk... do you want to go get something to eat?" She stammered, her face a rosy blush. I almost laughed aloud. Did the girl I've been thinking about since middle school just ask me to get food with her? "What about CJ-- er, Derik, I mean?" The annoyed look that crossed her face as she rolled her eyes made my heart sing. "I'm so sick of him. And don't want to think about him." I waited to answer, wondering if she'd try to convince me. I was not disappointed. "C'mon, Yoongi. Let's get some food. I'll pay." My name sounded beautiful coming from her mouth. She puffed out her bottom lip, pouting at me. Every muscle in my body urged me to fly forward and catch that lip between my teeth. I shifted before answering. "Fine, but I've got to stop by my house first. Damage control."

When we rolled to a stop in front of my house, I busted out laughing. Sammi was standing on the porch, arms crossed, fuming. You could practically see the annoyance exuding from her form. I got out of the car and motioned for Angel to follow. As angry as Sammi was, all annoyance was replaced with shock when she saw Angel climbing out of my car. "Sorry, Sammi. I forgot you." I brushed past her and unlocked the front door for her. She still hadn't said a thing, she was just staring at Angel, who now looked a little creeped out. "Uh... Hello. I'm Angel." This broke Sammi of her trance. "Yeah I know. Why are you with him?" Sammi knew Angel was basically royalty, at least at our school. Angel laughed. "He saved me." She said, turning her warm, gorgeous eyes to me. Sammi was still looking at her in shock. "Okay, bye. We're going out." I shoved Sammi through the door and shut it, locking it before she could follow us down the steps. I was dumb to think that would stop her. As the lock jiggled, I leaped off the porch. "Run!" Angel giggled and ran after me, falling into my car as I turned the key. "So, where do you want food from?" I asked, pulling away from the curb. "McDonald's. I want nuggets sooo bad." I was shocked again, but wasn't at the same time. Of course she eats McDonald's. Angel wasn't skinny. She was perfectly rounded curves and soft edges. "McDonald's are not 'sooo bad' worthy." I chuckled. "The nuggets are! And I haven't had them in, like, eight months." I gasped exaggeratedly. "If they're so good, why didn't you eat them for that long?" Angel sighed, and I caught another eye roll. "Derik wouldn't let me eat that stuff. He said I needed to lose weight." I scoffed. "Of course he did." Angel whipped her head towards me, hurt all over her face. She thought I agreed with him. "Oh, not like that. I meant of course he did, as in, he's an asshole and doesn't know that you're perfect and always have been." As we parked, I watched her smile. It was a shy smile. It was so innocent, and gentle. Fragile. She was fragile. Angel was as delicate and as beautiful as a flower. A flower I wanted to crush.
