A love like no other

How things change

As she stood in the rain Alex was reliving the past four weeks, how her life had turned upside down.

Flashback

Alex was sat on her sofa cuddled with her teddy jammy, and waiting for her mum and dad she was getting nervous because they should have been back ages ago and they are always back on time.

''Hungry hungry hungry" Alex mumbled as she waited for her parents, they there was a knock on the door, being the type of person she was Alex was scared and wasn't sure what to do, then the door knock again so hesitantly she went to open the door and glimpsed at the two men who was there.

"Hello" was whispered from behind the door

  "Are you Alex Steven's"

"I can't say I'm not allowed to talk to strangers, mummy and daddy said so".

The two men on the other side of the door glanced at each other, then back to the tiny girl cowering behind the door and sighed sadly.

"Sweetie we need to know if your Alex because we need to talk about her parents, something very bad has happened".

Flashback over

That was how everything changed, from that moment Alex was alone, she didn't understand at first what was going on or what they meant, but after doing down to the police station things were beginning to make sense.

Things then began to blur around Alex after she had to identify the bodies of the only people in her life, she remember screaming and crying, being led away and then eventually being told they were hit by a drink driver and died straight away.

Next thing Alex knows is she is stood in her living room with tears in her eyes and she looks around lost and alone. So she grabs Jammy and a picture of her parents and ends up falling asleep in their bed.

The next few weeks go from bad to worse, because of her age Alex couldn't go into the system so was left to fend for herself and due to the lack if money her parents had she couldn't afford the house or bills, even if she could she didn't know to pay them of what she should do first. So one night after bailiffs knock again and scared her again with there yelling Alex decided to run, she didn't know what they wanted and didn't know what do to, maybe she could find someone to help her or tell her what to do, beacuse Alex didnt know what people were like and didn't know how cruel people could be. So with her plan in mind she grabbed her bag and packed her clothes, jammy and a picture of her mum and dad, and after taking one last look at her home she set off.

1 week later

Alex walked down the street clutching jammy to her chest as she looked around for somewhere to sleep, during the past week Alex has regretted her decision to leave her home. She had hardly anything to eat, her bag had been stolen, so she was in filthy clothes and she didn't know or like anyone. Everyone around her were mean and cold and didn't care about her, they ignored and pushed passed her on the street, so now Alex was looking for somewhere safe as the last place she was staying was taken by another man who told her to 'do one'. Coming more into the centre of town Alex saw a massive bulding so tall and shiny she was amazed, it had the name Gold printed on the side, she saw so many important looking people walking from the bulidng she was scared the looked mean and scary so she turned and walked away. Just as she was about to turn the corner she felt a few drops of rain, then all of a sudden it began to pour. Smiling so wide Alex swirled in the rain enjoying the feeling of being clean for the first time in ages.

What Alex didn't know is by her simple acts and behaviour she had captured the attention of one very scary and dangerous man, Nathan Gold.
