There once were five girls.

These five girls were inseperable, stuck together like glue, stuck together like five fingers on one hand.
They all lived so close together, in the town of Worreeville. All in the same street too, Anchor Drive. The five met up at one treehouse every night, and claimed it as their ... "clubhouse". All of them, except one, had met together in second grade. The exception girl was Joy. Joy Nara. She had come along in third grade. The four girls, Lisa, Louise, Heira, and Tiffany were all cautious of Joy when she first entered their group. This was because they really wanted to keep their group small and personal, but soon, it all felt natural and Joy was able to fit in so well and the fact that she joined them a year later did not matter.

Lisa was the "leader" of the group. It was unsaid between the members but it was quite obvious she was. She made all the holiday plans, she was the three of them's first friend, and was a social butterfly. The blonde radiated confidence and laughed very loud at Louise's jokes. All the students in the school knew her and cracked a
"hello" when they walked past her.
Maybe this was because she had joined the tennis club, basketball club, music club, and even the student council at one point. Or maybe it was the fact that she dated Davie Hughes for a few days (which was HUGE considering he was a model and all the girls fawned over him) Lisa felt loved and accepted at the school, and the teachers loved her too, because of the compliments she gave and her bright white smile.

Louise was what they called the goofy one, and always cracked a joke or two... even at inappropriate times. She was the presumed daredevil of the group, and was always up to no good. She had dyed the tips of her dark brown hair a bright yellow (she was the first person to dye her hair in Year Five of Worree Academy) and had gotten suspended once for rubbing a bald teacher's head and calling it a basketball. It was the buzz of the semester, and she had gotten so much attention - both good and bad - from that incident. Her peers laughed at her, the parents of her peers were disappointed in her, and the younger kids looked up to her.

Heira was the quiet bookworm of the group and when she wasn't hanging out with the other girls, her face would be glued to a new novel she had bought at the nearest Dymocks. Her bedroom was stacked with fancy fiction novels and only in seventh grade had she started collecting romance novels. Her parents were extremely strict and only wished for her to get straight A's on her report - but she didn't. All B's with a few A's. Under her modified long school skirt you could see dark purple bruises from her dad's anger at her so called "terrible reports". It was one of the major secrets that was shared within the group - Heira suffered from depression.

Tiffany was the tomboy of the group. Like Lisa, she joined many of the sports clubs and absolutely aced in them. She kept her light brown hair short and scruffy, and wore baggy clothes and overused Nike sneakers out of school. She was friendly at most, but when she was angry, she was angry. Her punches could actually damage organs severely and send someone to hospital. The girls tried to stay out of Tiffany's angry side.

And last but certainly not least, Joy.

Joy was pretty. She was of Asian descent, had a small framed face, large doe-like eyes, and soft pink lips. When she first moved into Worree Academy in the third grade, many boys, despite only being eight, had the hoots for her but were too shy to admit it. The four girls of the group still remmeber the very day when Joy stood at the front of the classroom for the first time with a nervous face and the mumbles like "wow she's gorgeous" and "i've never seen anyone so beautiful" went around the classroom. She really was though. Not only that, but Joy was a natural talker. Conversations with her were so special, even the smallest talk made you feel so special, like you were talking to the president of the United States. If a laugh escaped her lips because of you, you really won it all.

Her light brown eyes were deep and so gentle like honey, and you wanted to stare at them forever. Joy's hair was soft and shined a dark brown under the sun. Under the sun, her eyes were like a light yellow, really the same colour as honey. And to top it off, her intellect was off the charts. Every test or assesment she was handed, she aced. 95's or higher for each one. In fact, the lowest score she had ever gotten in the course of her school years would be a 90.

Joy really was... Joy. She was just so perfect. Everyone, her peers, the younger people, the older people, heck, even the teachers could not resist staring at her because of her graceful yet fragile beauty.

But not all things could be bliss.

Everything crashed in seventh grade. It all tumbled down like dominoes.

Why?

Jealousy.
