Asia Love
Diary Entry Day 1
"My name is Asia Love I'm 17 and I'm from Sacramento, CA. I lived here my whole life but not in the suburban area I lived in,what my rich grandma says every time she visits, "the hood". Although I didn't think it was that bad as long as you minded your business which was easy for me because I'm not one for being the center of Attention. I don't know my dad and from what I hear from my mom I don't think I want to. She said as soon as she found out she was pregnant she hadn't ever heard from him again. Other then that I think my life turned out ok. It could be worse so I'm fortunate to have had aspirations and luckily was blessed with the work ethic and ambition to make things happen. Only problem is I'm extremely shy so it becomes a little hard to interact with others especially the male population. I have never had a boyfriend and from the way my bestfriend Avery talked about her current and past relationships I feel as though I can wait for a while longer. You see Avery and I are exact opposites she's loud and wild and loves the spotlight where I just am to myself and not worried about who knows what I'm doing. I have no social media I don't see any use for it when the only people I talk to are my mom, Avery and her brother Dreyvan and that's only because he is my ride to school. Avery and Dreyvan are twins and all of us are seniors this year. After this I planned to become a journalist simply because writing is my muse I feel so relaxed and it's really my key to happiness."
I decided to end my entry there as I heard Dreyvan's car horn letting me know it was time for me to come on. I put on a pair of black shorts, a red v-neck, and my red vans before walking out the door. I figured I would just wait until lunch to eat because I was already running late. " Someone's a little slow today" said Avery. " Yeah I was about to leave you" added Dreyvan. I sighed. "I'm sorry I'm just nervous about our first day" I replied. Both of them just rolled their eyes and Dreyvan turned up to radio and bobbed his head until we arrived at school. "You really that nervous girl, you know I got you" Avery said. " I'm just not ready to have to do ice breakers all day like aren't we too old to be playing name games" I said trying to shake off my nervousness by joking.
We walked until we made it to my first period which was Government. We shared our goodbyes and I headed in realizing everyone was already seated including the teacher. "Ok you must be Asia you can take a seat right there next to Andre, Andre please raise your hand" I looked around and saw a boy in the back raising his hand. I started to walk towards the back and sat down once I reached my seat. After a few minutes I felt someone staring so I turned to see Andre looking at me. We had a mini staring competition until I looked away slightly baffled that he had no shame in just staring and not even lookin away when I noticed. I put my head down until the teacher got up and told us we were going to do some ice breakers to get to know our classmates. I rolled my eyes in a way I thought wasn't noticeable until I heard Andre slightly laugh and when I looked over he said " you must not be into this whole class participation thing" " It's not that I'm just confused as to why we have to play games to introduce ourselves like this is the 3rd grade like no offense but it's senior year and this little name game is the last thing on my mind" i said. " Well how about you run the class then Ms. Love." I heard who I just learned was Mrs. Trainor say. I felt my whole body tense up as I realized she had just put me on the spot. I decided if I was silent she would just let it go but I quickly came to see that was not the case when she said " I mean you don't like the way I run it so I assume you feel that they should just pay you to do my job instead" I sighed. " That's not what I meant I was just saying that I think it gets a little old considering we do this for like the first 2 days every year in every class. Even if we do this game I won't be able to tell you any of the names tomorrow" I replied. " Well how about you just leave and we can call you back after we play the game since it's such an inconvenience to you, Anyone else got a problem with it they can follow her as well." " I'm out to then" I heard Andre say. I slightly got nervous because I knew that meant we would be outside together alone. " well then to each it's own" she said.
