Charlie was sitting on her grandmothers hospital bed listening to the heart monitor when a young women walked in . She wasn't sure what was happing but the woman started to talk to her grandmother about her but being so young she didn't understand. Her grandmother began to cry so Charlie decided she didn't like this woman.
After a while the women left to call someone when her grandmother started crying again .
"I love you so very much Charlie and I always will " said her grandmother .
"What's wrong granny why you crying " exclaimed Charlie .
"Honey , I'm going to have to leave you soon and I want you to know that your an exceptionally smart child and don't let anyone else tell you other wise " cried her grandmother .
"But but granny what do you mean , I don't want you to leave, I love you "said Charlie .
The heart monitor began to beep very fast and nurse and doctors ran in . During this chaos Charlie was lifted by the woman from earlier on and was seen screaming and kicking the woman , shouting for her grandmother. It broke the woman's heart to see the child brake down in her arms . When Charlie started to calm down she noticed a young man standing close by watching her with the woman who she found outs name was Kerry . The man had a tear in his eye when he was looking at Charlie . She was confused as to why this man was looking at her like that but mostly she wanted to go back to her granny .
Kerry called the man over in which she called him Spencer . He sat down awkwardly beside Charlie who was a bit cautious of the stranger . The man looked a bit familiar and he reminded her of the man in the picture of the news clipping that her mother left with her .
Suddenly the man began to talk . He talked in a calm and stuttering voice and Charlie felt safe and comfortable around him .
"Hey" said Spencer .
"Hi" said Charlie who wrapped her hands around her legs into a ball and hid her head between her legs .
"Hey , hey it's okay I won't hurt you " said Spencer . Charlie cautiously lifted her head and looked up at the man . "Who are you" questioned Charlie. Spencer looked up at Kerry as if asking for permission when he looked back down at Charlie and said " Well , em , I'm you father "....
