Kageyama began to nod off, he'd been staring at the murky ocean waves for hours. The sun had long set and he yearned for his warm bed and a room that didn't smell like salt.
Then his boat lurched. The rope attached to his net trap strained, the force of whatever he caught almost capsizing his boat. He lept to his feet and peered over the side of the vessel. A glimpse of silver beneath the moonlight. He let out a triumphant yell before remembering he had to pull in his catch.
He had thiught catching it in the first place would be the most difficult; reeling it in proved to be harder, much harder. As he fought against the creature, writhing in the net, it felt as though he were fighting against the strength of the ocean itself. With a shout and the last of his strength, he heaved the bundle onto the boat. It landed with a thump, followed by another thump as Kageyama collapsed next to it, victory flooding his chest. He looked at the mermaid beneath the knots and twists of the net. It thrashed and hissed at him as he caught his breath. The boy then quickly and decicively bashed the mermaid's head against the side of the boat and you fell still.
He pushed his fingers under the ropes of the net and checked your pulse; it was still there thankfully, though he doubted a hit like that would kill something as powerful as you. He decided keep you in the net until you could be safely be brought to land and kept out of range; he noted your needle like claws as he tied your wrists together with nylon ropes, they could have killed him had it not been for his net. Then he duct taped your mouth shut, an image of your cruel fangs that lurked behind red lips flashed through his mind. Satisfied with his work, Kageyama dragged the net and you in it further into the boat, then he turned the vessel around and headed back to shore.

You awoke with your face pressed into the sand and a raging headache. You tried to groan, but when you couldn't open your mouth and felt your sore arms stuck behind you, you recalled the events of the previous night. Your tail thrashed angrily. Stupid, disrespectful, pathetic humans.
Taking in your surroundings, it looked like you were still in the ocean; you were. But you were surrounded by sturdy walls of rock, closing you into a puny pool, a damned tide pool was what you were stuck in. You snarled behind the tape. Damned humans. Your wrists bent at painful angles; worth it when you felt your claws slicing through the rope. Then you ripped the tape off your mouth and tossed that, with the rope out of your tide pool. Damn that human to hell.
