Push through Ivy, keep going. Do it for Anthony.
My feet hitting against the ground and the pounding of my heart were the only things i could hear. The speed my legs were moving almost shocked me, but I had to get out of here.
I have to get out of here.
The bag of food in my left hand was the constant reminder of my little brother as I was sprinting out of the compound. The knife in my right hand was my only defense. Finally, I saw the fence that lead out, out to Anthony. I ignored the burning in my legs and my lungs and kept on running, staying out of sight of the guards on watch. I closed my flip blade and put it in the side of my boots.
My eyes came in contact with the hole under the fence that i came in from, and I skidded to a stop. My hands immediately set down the supply's I was holding to grasp the wire of the fence. I pull up it enough to allow my body and the bag to slide successfully under it, then my sprint started again.
We were running low on supply's and i had to get some from a place other than an empty store. The compound i just ransacked was a big community called the Creek. They get the name, well, because they're next to a river. Creative right?
My legs carried me to the rundown pharmacy store where I hid my brother to await my return. When i reaches the doors, my legs were just about to give out. As i opened the door, I heard the sound of my .40 S&W pistol clicking and ready to shoot.
"Jesus Ivy, you scared me! You should've used the signal." Anthony exclaims, putting the safety back on the gun and handing it to me. My breathing was still heavy as i took the gun and put it in the back of my waistband. I handed him the duffle bag of supply's and cock an eyebrow.
"I ran almost 3 miles straight to get these supply's back, i'm sorry that i was too out of breath to whistle." I remark sarcastically, a small grin on my face. He rolls his eyes, but smiles anyway and wraps his arms around me. I haven't been back for 8 hours, I knew he was worried. Wrapping my arms around him, i place a kiss on top of his forehead in reassurance to both him and i.
"So, do ya wanna see what i got?" I question, my smile widening. His eyes light up and he nods, dumping out the contents in the bag careful not to break anything. Cans of food, bottles of water, medical supply's and weapons rolled out of the bag, causing my brothers eyes to widen.
"How did you not get caught?" He asked, astonished on how i was able to gather so many supply's. I reach over and ruffle his hair.
"Because i'm a badass, duh!" He laughs at my answer, then takes a can of food and opens it. We haven't eaten in 2 days due to low supply's, so i understood how hungry he was. Adrenaline still pumped through my veins, so the hunger hasn't kicked in yet but I knew it would soon. Sighing, I stand up and wipe my hands on my jeans. Anthony looks up at me with a questioning look.
"You're not eating?" he asks with a mouth full of food, causing a smile to form on my face.
"I will soon bud, don't talk with your mouth full." I joke, and inspect the weapons i acquired.
All of the guns I got are: a .22mm pistol, that will replace the one that Anthony was using because it's a little more safe, a 9mm pistol, a Beretta M9 pistol, an AK-107, and a Franchi Spas 12 shotgun. Of course, I grabbed all of the necessary ammo. I also managed to get some switch blades of all different sizes.
