Most of the time, Shigaraki Tomura missed the peace and quiet of the old days, when Kurogiri and himself were the sole members of the League of Villains. Kurogiri never bothered Tomura unless he felt it was important, and he did a pretty good job of knowing which topics Tomura would also be interested in. He missed not having to speak to anyone for days on end. With the people who hung around the bar now, Shigaraki Tomura rarely got a moment to himself.
Tonight was one of those nights, where nobody felt like leaving him alone. It was December 31st, nearing on 10pm. His "colleagues" in the League of Villains decided to throw themselves a New Years Eve party. Even villains celebrated the holidays, apparently. Tomura had never had any desire to celebrate the new year, he didn't see why he should be excited for another year to come of the worship of the Symbol of Peace. The end of another failed year. If anything, New Years made him angry.
Tomura scraped at his neck as he stared at his computer screen, reading various articles on hero and villain activity. The baseline from the stereo blasting downstairs has the floor vibrating, and it takes every ounce of energy he has not to snap. He hates loud noises, he hates parties, he hates fun. He scratched harder at the dry skin under his fingernails, gritting his teeth.
Just as he is about to head downstairs and tell everybody to shut the fuck up, somebody knocked on his door. The hand ravaging his neck stills for a moment and he eyes the door wearily. Who the hell left the party to come talk to him? Was it Kurogiri? Tomura wasn't even sure if Kurogiri had joined the party in the first place, as he hadn't left his room since the music started. Another gentle knock brought Tomura out of his musings. And then a feminine voice surprised him.
"Shigaraki-kun?" You call gently through his door. You knew he wasn't a very social person at all, and he probably hated the holidays, but you didn't feel right just ignoring the fact that someone was alone on New Years Eve when you had the opportunity to provide him with some company, if he even wanted it. So here you were, knocking on his door and nervously trying to piece together in your head how to convince Shigaraki to join the party, or at least join you. You'd be surprised if he didn't just slam the door in your face. If he ever opened it, that is. You hoped the three cocktails you'd gulped down earlier gave you the courage to say what you wanted to, instead of wimping out like you normally would if you were sober.
Just as you were about to knock for a third time, the knob turned and the door slowly swung open, revealing a very annoyed looking Tomura, his eyes narrowed from behind father. You smiled up at him nervously and rubbed the back of your neck.
"Hi, Shigaraki-kun! Uh, so I know you probably don't like New Years-"
"I don't."
"Right. Uh... Well, even so, it's a holiday where people come together to celebrate, and I just don't feel right leaving anybody alone on a night like this!"
"I want to be alone."
"But... Have you ever celebrated New Years before?"
"No."
"WHAAAAT? Then you HAVE to, at least once! A drink will loosen you up!"
"Clearly you've had a few."
You blushed, pouting at him. You weren't even that drunk!
"Yeah, so?" You whined. "C'mon Tomura, it'll be fuuuuuun~" He rolled his eyes at you.
"I don't like fun. Nor do I like parties."
You looked thoughtful for a second, tapping your chin. Tomura just watched you in amusement. Usually you were fairly shy and quiet and wasn't one to argue or beg when anyone told you "no". With a couple drinks in you, you were not taking no for an answer. It wasn't necessarily annoying to Tomura, but he still had no intentions of joining the others downstairs. Finally you grinned up at him, clearly coming up with something you think will convince him.
