Once my family and I went to the lake. I remember feeling happy to see the lake for the first time. My brothers told my parents that they wanted to go home. My parents would constantly say," Alex and Aaron you both need to take in the fresh air." All they would reply in return is do a heavy sigh. I was so excited to stay out here for the week. Little to I know what would happen.
That night I woke up to a faint crying out into the distance. Sitting up and leaving the tent. All I could thing I could think about was who was making that sound. So being as smart as I was at the time I unzipped the tent and walked out blindly into the night. As I walked I felt uneasy like something was watching me. The sound of the crying got louder and louder until I stood at the lake side. I looked out and saw what looked like a girl no older than ten. She stood on a rock ledge. She had long curly jet Black hair and wore a long flowing White dress. She looked so beautiful. But something was off about her and it wasn't that she was bare feet on a rocky surface. About two minutes later she jumped off the rock and disappeared into thin air. I walked to the ledge and looked down into the water. Seconds later someone grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back. Screaming I looked at behind me. All I saw was my dad yelling, "What in the world are you doing out here by yourself?" I tried to explain what I was doing but all he would say is that I was imagining it and that I am to never leave the tent without someone again. I agreed so he would stop yelling at me.
The next morning I woke up and all I would think about was who was that little girl. My mom and dad both told me was that it was dangerous for me to be that close to the ledge because I could fall and hurt myself. I really didn't care to much about it. The day went on. We hiked and learned about different birds and plants. I again really didn't care about any of it, all I wanted was for to know who was that girl crying and why she jumped. All I knew is that I know I would meet her again.
That night I laid still as I waited to hear the crying agian. What felt like an eternity there was the sound of a little girl crying. This time I was ready to find this girl out. I walked to the ledge near the lake. There was the little girl again. She wore the same close and still had no shoes on. It took all of my courage but I yelled, "Hey little girl what's wrong?" The girl turned my way and disappeared and reappeared in front of me. I wasn't startled instead I felt like I was on a cloud. She held out her hand as in like she wanted to be my friend. I grabbed her hand lovingly. She gently pulled me to the rocky edge and we both looked out. Seconds later we walked right off the edge. I can remember hearing is my dad yelling my name. Then everything went dark.
Later that year my family held a funeral for me. I didn't know why no one could see that I am still here. My dad then thought that I was telling the truth about the little girl. So he drove the the sheriff's office and asked about any deaths of a little girl at the lake that they stayed near. Not to long after looking they found something. A little girl named Sophia died there a year ago. She died because her older brother cased her and she slipped and fell off the ledge and broke her neck. She had long jet Black curly hair and wore a long White flowing dress. Now my dad knew that the little Sophia took me where she was. Knowing that my dad cried because now he would never see me again. Or so he thought.
