"Introduce me to Yanelis if she's here okay? I have to go introduce Erick to the team." Joel says goodbye to Jodi on the parking lot and walks up ahead.

Instead of going to the lacrosse fields directly, Jodi walks into school, tiptoeing, even though there's probably nobody there. Except for one person.

Someone pulls her inside a classroom by her hand and pins her against the door, planting soft kisses in her neck.

"Chris, no hickeys. Joel will kill me!" "I'm just kissing you, not sucking on your skin!" Chris protests. "I know, I am just warning you." Jodi cups his face and gazed into his eyes. "Sneaking around with you is exciting." She smiles.

"And you still think I should hold back." He whispers in her ear.

"Someone's coming." Jodi suddenly says and both of them move away from the door and hide, standing against the wall.

"How do you always know when someone's coming?" He frowns. "I have ears, you know."

"I'm not deaf either, but still."

"We should go before someone figures out we're both late again at the same time." Jodi grabs Christopher by the back of his head and kisses him one last time.

"Let me know if our plan works, okay? I need to see you more often." He pouts, resting his head against her. "Yes babe. Now, you go first. I'll follow in five minutes."

In the locker room, Joel is already talking to the team, when Christopher tries to sneak in without grabbing anyone's attention. Of course Joel's hearing was as good as his sister's.

"Thanks for joining us, Christopher. You know this team is incomplete and lost without you." Sarcasm drips off Joel's mouth.

"Let's start this over. This is Erick, he's joining the team. I want you guys to guide him on the field and show him how lacrosse is played our way." He introduces the new student again.

Coach Renato takes over from him and lectures them to behave during the pep rally, while instructing them on what to do.

"Were you with you know who somewhere in a bathroom?" Richard whispers in Christopher's ear, the latter nodding in response.

The entire team walks out to the field, where the cheerleaders are already awaiting their arrival, each with a rose in their hand.

The players walk past them as each girl places a rose in one of the players' hand and then they wait in silence, staring at the grass in front of them.

Joel walks up ahead and finds the parents of the student that died. He hugs his mother and hands her the rose. "I am so sorry for your loss. Dean was a great kid. He will be missed." Joel speaks in a soothing voice. The other players follow his lead.

The girls have come up with a mild routine, nothing too provoking or sexy, it was rather sweet really. Of course Tamar did a split at the end when there wasn't supposed to be one. But luckily no one minded.

"Joel! I want you to meet someone." Jodi signals for Joel to come to her. He obeys. "Hi." He greets the darkhaired girl standing with her. "This is Yanelis. "Hi again." Joel chuckles. "I'm Joel, Jodi's twin brother." He shakes her hand.

They talk for a bit, until it's time for the twins to leave. "Have you seen my brother?" Yanelis asks, while looking over his shoulder. "Yeah, Coach took him along to give him some stuff, like gear and our training schedules." Joel explains.

"Damn, I wanted to meet him. Everyone's talking about his mesmerizing eyes." Jodi groans. Both Joel and Yanelis stare at her for a second before shaking their heads laughing. They say their goodbyes and everyone heads their own way.

"Why are you so nervous?" Joel asks Jodi while driving home. "I am not." She protests. "You know I can feel your heartbeat, right?" "I'm just scared. I wonder who killed Dean. I don't believe the whole suicide shtick they're feeding us." Jodi says disdainfully.

"Let's just hope Davenport High stays safe. I don't want to move again. I like it here." Joel says softly. "You mean, you like the girls here. One girl in particular." Jodi grins.

"Anouk never called me after that night. She avoids me on the field. What am I supposed to do with that?" He sighs. "You didn't turn in front of her, did you? Did you trigger the gene immediately? Or were your emotions not running wild enough?" Jodi asks curiously.

"No, we were actually good. She held onto me until morning came. I don't know what changed." Joel shrugs. "I don't know what triggers the curse. It usually happens a while after reaching maturity and then some." He adds.

"How fucked up is this? Who the fuck cursed our family like that? We can't even enjoy life without turning into monsters!" Jodi says in a dramatic tone.

"Do you see me as a monster?" Joel's facial expression changes and he turns to her. "No! I know you. You won't hurt a soul. But still, I wish we were human." She says softly. "You still are. So I wouldn't get a boyfriend if I were you. Maybe you'll get overexcited and accidentally trigger the gene! Joel warns, turning back to the road again.
