My vision began to fade out of the cafe...it all goes black..
I wake up outside...my eyes start to burn from the sunlight...
I stretch and sit up in the emerald green grasses that surround me. I look straight ahead...all I see ahead of me is jungle...and the amethyst purple sky...gently blended down the horizon like a fading colored pencil.n
I see the sun in the center slowly starting to rise...
To my suprize it's the end of another day...it shows that I survived yesterday...my God those exams sucked.
I continue to look forward and I see the remains of Earth...the last time I was on earth...was...a few hundred years ago...Earth was destroyed in the effort to stop the nuclear chaos that had erupted in 2545
I rub my eyes and stand to my feet and look around. I know I left my bag around here somewhere...my dumbass is always losing things.
I finally see my back next to the moss covered rock, I grab it and turn around.
Behind where I had been sitting there was a city of silver...all the building were made of flawless steel..the sun shone off the buildings like a large metal sheet.
I start walking and the ambience is incredible...I hear the trains in the distance...Im really happy that I was one of the survivors...
Back on Earth they had tried so many things...from under ground vaults to thousands of peace treaties...none of it seemed to work. One day the United States set nukes off on its own people and then the world. It was utter chaos..after the nuke from the U.S. hit Korea...it was over. Korea started to strike the surrounding countries. It was utter mass destruction...billions of lives lost.
I was one of the few people who was able to get off Earth and get away.
I've always wondered what it looks like....so many nukes were dropped the radiation twisted and manipulated the lands. Scientists can't get a clear picture of anything done there, so curious souls like me have to imagine what devastation or beauty lies below those crimson clouds.
I continue walking down the hill. I look around at the road and they seem desolate..the asphalt is smooth...like a freshly paven road.
I step onto the street and begin walking around. All around me were trees of green, a pure green like emerald and other flawless gems. I look up at the sky as it starts to get dark. I look back one last time and see the moon doing it's slowly orbit around Earth. I miss Earth. It was...different...more...open than this place. I walk down the street further and the only light that surrounds me is that of the light posts every 20 feet or so...the skies around me are painted with stars and auras of gentle colors...orange...white...gold...blue...green...red....all blended to make some work of art far beyond comprehension.
I stop myself and look around...its desolate...quiet....serene...
I play with the straps on my back pack, I continue walking down the road. I start to hear tribal music...nothing to prominent..just something in the distance...far enough to be an echo, but close enough to be acknowledgable
What seems like a few hours later I come to my cabin. It's not much. Small front yard, little mail box, and of course the cabin itself. Small windows were to the left and right of the door...spotless. The door was a vibrant red, and the concrete leading to it was smooth as ice. The house was a beautiful shade of light blue...with a green trim surrounding the window.
I walk up the concrete path and reach for my keys. I put them in the door and turn them.
I open the door to see the beautiful interior.
The floors are flawless white marble. The pillars inside are a fine oak with a black vine-like design on all four sides. The living room carpet is a light teil and soft. The kitchen counters are of a finely sanded granite, and the chandelier from the ceiling is just average glass.
I walk to my room and lay down on my velvet red sheets.
I embrace the silky feeling of my sheets against my skin.
I begin to relax and then I stary to hear a humming.
I'm not sure what it is so I stand up to see what it could be. I look around and nothing peculiar surrounds me. I begin to feel tense.
I walk to the living room and I sit on the couch. I turn on the t.v. the usual reports..
It's odd..after the destruction of Earth...the crime rates on other planets dropped drastically...I assume it's because Earths nuclear arsenal was 1/8th of what the other planets have. I don't know, I'll never know.
I flip through channels and as always nothing interesting. It's starting to get late..I look at the clock...its 11:50 pm.
I need to get ready for bed..I wasted this day..I tend to do that a lot..my head stays in the clouds...reality had never been something I fancy.
I get up and walk to the bathroom. I walk in the bathroom...nothing interesting...a toilet..shower with glass doors...a bath....and a counter spanning the wall next to the tub. I grab my tooth brush and start to brush my teeth. It's weird..its been quiet for hundreds of years..why?
I expect something to happen.
I continue brushing my teeth well still pondering the silence. I spit out the tooth paste and rinse my mouth.
The closest person I can think of is thousands of miles away...
I lost my parents in the War on Earth...a tear rolls down my face and I smile.
I walk out of the bathroom and turn off all the lights. I head to my room.
In this province it's always quiet...the only place that really has noise on this planet is that shining trash heap in the distance full of politicians..you figure after Earth went to hell in a hand basket for politics people would've listened...nope...people are still stupid. I lay back on the bed..
I look out my window and see colorful streaks in the atmosphere...
I lay back...and close my eyes.
