Hazel's Pov:

I woke up sometime in the middle of the night, feeling dizzy and quite sick, and shifted uncomfortably in my covers. I felt very nauseous and seasick and I knew that I wasn't going to be falling asleep anytime soon. I practically tumble out of bed and clench my stomach in pain. I wobble over to my bedroom door and open it as swiftly as I can manage without falling on the ground from pure nausea. The hallway was dark and empty, all I could make out was silhouettes and shadows, and it was eerily quiet. Despite my nausea and sickness I was still partially afraid. Every shadow seemed to remind me of some beast or lurking monster. I pushed those childish thoughts away and continued on my way to the bathroom so I could throw up or something. My brown curly hair covered most of my face so I assumed I looked terrible or like some psychopath of some sorts. I was still clenching my stomach in pain when I heard a muffled sob coming from Leo's room. Should I go in and check on him? Is he okay? I quietly approach his door and press my ear up against it. I just couldn't help myself. Curiosity had gotten the better of me. Anyways, with my ear pressed up against the door, I could hear, in fact, cries coming from the room. Why was Leo crying? He always seemed to be laughing....what is wrong with him. I debate on if I should enter or not but decide to just tap on his door.

"Leo?" I half croak and whisper. I was still sick and nauseous but I care about Leo more and I need to see if he's alright. I hear the cries stop and then the footsteps of Leo walking to the door. He cracks it open ever so slightly so I can only see part of his face and his red eyes.

"Hazel?" He asks sounding hoarse and terrible at the very least. He opens the door a little more and looks at me with an expression of complete brokenness. I immediately push the door open the rest of the way and pull Leo into a hug
.
"Leo....what's wrong?" I ask clutching him tightly.

"N-nothing. I'm fine." He says not quite meeting my eyes.

"No, you're not fine. Leo talk to me. Tell me what's wrong. I'm here for you." I say staring up into his eyes.

"I-I just--this is all of my fault. My mom's death. Everything. I can't save anyone. I'm just not good enough for things like this. I don't belong. I'm no hero like you guys." Leo says quietly with tears rolling down his cheek.

"Leo," I begin to speak and then wipe his tears away. "That's not true. You're a hero. You didn't kill your mother. And if you don't belong than I most definitely don't belong. We need you Leo. I need you. More than you know. I care about you deeply." I say and then stand on the tips off my toes so I can reach his soft lips and kiss him gently. He pulls me closer and kisses me back harder as we stumble onto his bed. He wraps me in the warmth of his arms and I dry his remaining tears. For now I wasn't sick or nauseous. I was just here in Leo's arms as I fell asleep feeling safe and protected.

I wake up to a knock at the door. I look around. Leo's arms are still wrapped around me prospectively and his cute hair sticks up in messy curls in some places. Wait. Oh gods. Coach Hedge is going to kill us...what do I ev-

"Leo, wake up man. You have to eat or you're going to starve dude," said Percy's familiar voice. "Leo?" He says again and before I have time to process what is happening Percy opens the door and we lock eyes.

"Wow....um," Percy mumbles with a slight smirk.

And at this great time Leo decides to wake up in the most adorable way. He stretches and yawns and then looks around confused. I feel my cheeks grow red and I immediately stand up and scramble past Percy into the hallway.

"Oh...I was just going." I mutter as I half run to my room.

In my rush I knock into Frank. Oh gods.

"Oh hey Hazel." He smiles. "Why the rush?"

"Oh...um nothing," I blush, "just got to attend to some girly matters of mine ya know?" I nervously laugh and then awkwardly kiss him on the cheek. "I'll see you later." I mumble and then rush to my room. I slam the door behind me, harder than I meant to, and I slump onto the bed.
