Izzy's eyes open slowly as she comes out of the same nightmare after months of it playing on repeat as soon as her eyes close. She is trapped in a home where she seems so small and fragile. Everything that surrounds her is much bigger than her, she tries doors and windows but can't break free. The tears began to fall and she crumbles to floor, scared, hurting, and unheard by her family. She pleads for them to hear her and help help but they stand there laughing, continuously living as if she isn't there.
She lays in bed just a few more minutes as she wakes knowing it will be another day trying to get through without infuriating her Mother. Each day began the same, Make bed, get ready for the day, prepare breakfast for herself and younger brother and clean the house to please her mother. If time allowed she could talk on the phone to her friends.
Today was different though she could feel it. She completed her workload and sat talking to Her best friend Alexis. Alexis had been at the mall last night and seen William, Izzy's boyfriend of nine months kissing another girl. Hearing the betrayal pierced through Izzy like dagger. Izzy was no stranger to heartbreak but this was different than the pain and turmoil her family surrounded her with. William promised to be different than anything or anyone but instead he showed her that he wasn't anything special. The realization sent Izzy on a downward spiral into a dark world. Her life seemed to be over as everything started to unravel. .
