Silver Mist

Chapter 1:

"CLAIRE!!!!!!!" My mom yelled up the stairs. I shot up and out of bed. "I'M UP!!!!" I yelled back down to her.

I squinted at my clock, the red letters reading 6:00 a.m. Huh. First day of school in a new town with new people.

Well this should be fun i thought with a sarcastic note.

I ran to take a quick shower then, stepping out and wrapping a towel tightly around me, I looked at the fogged mirror.

Starring back at me was a girl with piercing green eyes outlined in a ring of black, pale skin,and straight, silky, jet black hair.

I remembered i was on a time limit, and darted back into my bedroom.

I pulled on capri-sweat pants, and a tank top and ran down stairs taking them two at a time.

I ran past my mom and kissed her cheek grabbing toast out of the toaster with one hand, and the paper with the directions to my new school from my mom with the other, and headed toward the garage.

I took a second to study my beautiful, sleak porsche, then jumped in.

I rode with the music on and my mind was set a drift back deep into my memories . . . . . . my memories of when dad was still alive . . . . . "no" I said bringing me back from my trance.

I will not venture there again.

I'm not ready yet.

mom and I moved here to get away from all the hurt and pain dads death brought us. We moved here to start fresh. A new life yet dad will not be forgotten. Ever. Just thinking of him is like salt to an open wound.

As I drove into the parking lot, I saw the school. Wow.It was huge! Hard to miss, really.

This is going to be different.

I am going to be different, i thought.

Well, i really hope things work out here.

There is only one way to find out . . . . and there is a first time for everything.
