Fuck, fuck, fuck, shit, FUCK!
Alex trudged slowly down the sidewalk and towards his building, his feet scraping against it; room 1804, building 2, floor 1. He was stuck with Thomas Jefferson and George "King" Frederick. God damn, this year was going to be hell. A whole year with these assholes.
He saw the looming building appear and took in a deep breath. John and the others were in a whole other building, building 4, so this would be fun. It would be a lot harder to easily interact with them. The upside was that they were still at the same college, they had a few classes with him too.
He walked through the doors, freezing for a moment when he smelled weed. He continued walking and passed a group of girls, glancing at them. They looked him over, whispering something. He suddenly felt self conscious in their gaze; he didn't like being talked about. He hid his bandaged arms, averting his gaze.
Nobody had ever really known about the self harm besides his mother, but she was gone now. He never really talked about it with his friends in fear of them abandoning him cause they thought he was a wimp, or something. He couldn't lose his only friends he had over that.
Alex realised he was spaced out when someone bumped into him and he lost his balance for a second. He regained it and glared at the person, walking down the hall. He stopped in front of the fourth door and pulled out his key, taking a deep breath. He put the key in and twisted it, stepping in.
It was a nice interior; black furniture, dark blue walls, and a warm black carpet. The air smelled of food, but a combination. He heard arguing in the kitchen and sighed, walking down the side hall. He walked through the last door, already knowing it was empty. He set his bag on the bare bed and flopped next to it. He could still hear the arguing from the kitchen, the sound of something shattering ringing in the air.
He prayed for the poor neighbours that got stuck by them. He pulled off his shirt, tossing it to the closet with a sigh. He rustled in his bag and pulled out a black shirt with "I write too much" written in gray. He changed into sweatpants and walked out of the door, sighing. He was going to at least try to break the fight up. Alex walked through the living room, sliding into the kitchen.
"Will you two shut the fuck up?! The neighbours are gonna think animals are dying in here!" He yelled over them, glancing at the shattered cup on the floor. The two turned towards him, and Alex felt himself growing nervous. "Who the fuck let that gremlin in?" King scoffed and crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes.
Thomas rolled his eyes at Alex, who crossed his arms. "Oh, right, I'm dormed with you." He muttered. "Seriously, shut the fuck up about whatever nonsense this is." Alex continued. "It's none of your damn concern whether or not we stop." King retorted, stepping forward.
"Actually, it is. Unless you dumbasses want to get kicked out on the first day, I suggest you stop." Alex finished, keeping his stand. He knew King wouldn't really do anything. He took a step forward... and that was when George pushed him over, causing Alex to let out a soft grunt. Thomas raised a brow as King walked off and Alex got up. They heard a door slam and were left in silence. "I still can't believe I'm stuck with you." Thomas scoffed and turned back to his food.
Alex sighed and walked to the cupboard, opening it to see a few glasses. He grabbed one and filled it with water from the sink, sighing. Thomas turned and frowned. "Don't you have your own cups?" He asked. "No, and does it really matter? We're gonna use eachother's cups anyway." Alex responded as the took a drink. Thomas looked down and raised a brow.
"What the hell happened to your arms?" He asked, causing Alex to tense up. "Nothing, it's fine." He responded quickly and set the cup in the sink. Thomas eyed him as he walked out of the kitchen and back to his room. Alex sighed and shut the door, going over and sitting on his bed. He unzipped his bag after a minute of staring at the wall in thought.
He pulled out a picture frame and an old sweater of his mother's, setting them to the side. He laid back and took in a deep breath, not knowing if he'd be able to survive the year. He smiled and decided it was time to rest. He had been awake for a while trying to focus on getting to the right dorm and staying awake.
He was interrupted when the door was kicked open and King ran in, tossing a cane at Alex. Alex cried out, glaring at King. "Oops, my cane slipped." He remarked and jumped onto the bed. Alex began to panic when he plopped down onto his stomach, pressing Alex' chest against the bed.
"STOP-" He yelled as George began to peel off the bandages. "I wanna see what you're hiding!" King exclaimed. Alex hit his chest, crying out and yelling. "GET OFF OF ME, STOP, NO!" He exclaimed. "Calm down, I'm only taking your stupid ass bandages off." George scoffed, looking into his eyes.
He continued to yell as George finished unwrapping his arms and stared at his cuts. "Get the fuck off of me!" He yelled, thrashing around. "Wow, how pathetic." King scoffed and got up, walking back out. Alex sat, shaking and staring at the ceiling. He pulled the blanket up and over his arms, ashamed that King, of all people, was the first to see in years.
Alex sighed and pulled on his mother's old sweater, basking in the familiar scent of pine and lavender. He teared up, scared that King would tell John and the others. He didn't want his friendships ruined from this, but there was no turning back now. He couldn't prevent it if he did decide to.
Wow, college was already off to a bad start; what are the odds that he gets put with the two men he despises the most, his friends barely close, and the day ending with King seeing all his fuckups? Yay, life must love him! He sighed, crying out when he saw Thomas in the doorway. "Jesus Christ, what are you doing?" Alex asked and huffed, crossing his arms under the blanket.
"Um, seeing what all this yelling is about. Are you okay? What the fuck just happened?" Thomas responded, walking in. "King was being a douchebag, I'm fine. Now, can you just get out?" Alex huffed. Thomas scoffed. "Wow, I try to be nice for once and you respond like that?" He said before walking out. Alex let out a long sigh, laying back.
Fuck.
