Me, writing this: but what if I did anyways

The neighborhood was quiet, it was dark and silent. The laughing children had headed home with their candy already, the teens got bored and mulled away. Everything was somber as Alexander Hamilton jumped from his room's window. If he woke up his aunt he was dead, he knew that, but he also knew he couldn't chicken out. It's the worst thing one could do on hallow's eve.

---

He threw himself into the backseat of 'The Green Giant', Hercules's minivan. There was a chorus of greetings as he slammed the door shut. After the greeting from each of his friends, he noticed two people who where very much not his friends. Hercules was driving, and Angelica was sitting in the passenger side. In the second row sat himself, John, and Laf. In the very back row sat Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and Aaron Burr.

"Eliza is already there, and Peggy is driving her and Maria there on her motorcycle," John stated, answering one of Alexander's many questions. He motioned towards The back row as Herc began to drive,

"Laf invited Thomas, who invited James," He whispered, and Alexander groaned.

"Cheer up, we're going to a haunted house!" He said with a smile, and Alexander cracked one reluctantly.

"Yeah... that's true," He stated. John nodded happily. The rest of the ride was rather silent with a stagnant excitement, this was the time of year everyone seemed to love.

After what seemed like forever, the green van pulled in to an old mansion at the outskirts of town. It seemed they were the last to arrive, because Peggy, Maria, and Eliza where all chatting happily in a mix of ASL and speaking on the porch. Ever since he met the sisters and learned Peggy was mute he tried his best to learn it, but he wasn't very good at it yet- most of the time Eliza had to translate. They all filed out one by one, and Alexander went to stand between John and Aaron. Angelica climbed to the top step and turned to face everyone else,

"Hello everybody, and welcome to the third Annual night at the dead house!" She called in her best announcer voice. Alexander never liked the dorky name, but it stuck ever since Laf coined the term years ago.

"This month's host is the Drapier Mansion! And our movie selection for this fine night of October is as follows: Insidious, Human Centipede, The Ring, and Poltergeist" She smiled, and their were various hoots and hollers.

"Will Missus Peggy Schuyler do the honors of picking the lock as Herc and Laf carry the TV in from the van?" She asked sweetly, and all three nodded. Peggy walked up the stairs, took two pins from her hair, and began her work. Herc and Laf carried the large TV, VCR, and power-generator from the van and started towards the stairs. Having the urge to help, Alexander crowded around him but found nothing they would let him help carry. They waited at the bottom of the stairs, and almost everyone went silent. There was a click, and Peggy kicked the door open, raising her fists in triumph. Everyone cheered, and after Herc and Laf brought the entertainment in everyone else filed in quickly. Alexander noticed Thomas squeeze near James as they entered the dark room and laughed. What a coward. One by one, everyone took their phones or flashlights out and looked around. Being a vet since the first night at the dead house, Alexander decided to mess with the rookies. He snuck up behind James and Thomas, and to his delight noticed Angelica right beside him. They smirked to eachother, and at the same time they yelled as loudly as they could. Thomas jumped a good three feet in the air, and James looked on the edge of a heart attack,
