Liberty's Point of View
The last of the fresh air I was permitted vanished as I was unceremoniously discarded into a dark, humid trailer.Instantly I was swallowed by disquieting shadows and paralyzed by an agonizing heat. I shielded my despairing features with my blistered hands as white-hot tears leaked from my eyes. "No....not me." I thought shakily , denying the inevitable.I tightened my hands into fists in my attempts to cease from trembling, digging my fingernails into my filthy skin and letting blood contaminate my body further. Suddenly a wave of sinister depression devoured my soul as I sank in to floor, my weak legs finally abandoning their task of keeping me aloft. Pain shot through my knees as they greeted the cold, hard metal beneath me, making more tears obscure my vision.
"Ha." A curt chuckle shattered the suffocating silence and distracted me from my racing thoughts. I cautiously lifted my head from my hands, scanning the trailer until my eyes honed in upon a corner in which a girl was occupying. A sheet of dark red hair fell at the sides of her sharp, but delicate features. Her black, onyx eyes twinkled sinisterly in the dark as she inched closer to me, gliding across the trailer arrogantly. "Scared?" she taunted dropping to her knees so that her face was level with mine. I could think of nothing to say in reply as fear enveloped me once more and she spoke for a second time. "Pathetic." she whispered as she leaned in so close that her nose grazed mine and her milky complexion shone in the shady cubicle. "What a child." she spat, fingering a piece of my hair that hung lifelessly around my face. My stomach twisted sickeningly as I tore my gaze away from her.
"Back off." I tried weakly, slapping her slender hands away from my face. Though I realized quickly that my futile protective instincts were useless in this situation, the girl simply let out a dry laugh and added, "Tears will get you no where here, but go ahead, fall apart, makes it easier for me." Her words blazed through me like a raging forest fire, making my insides boil with fierceness. But although my emotions were heightening dangerously I knew that it would be wiser to keep quiet, in hopes that if I didn't react she wouldn't foresee me as her prey any longer. "This competition will eat your fragile little body alive." the girl continued vemoniously. Anger flared up within me once again, but I held back the bitter remarks forming in the back of my throat. Suddenly my concentration was shaken by a confident tone resounding from within the shadows.
"Excuse me, I think she said to back off." the strong, phemonine voice explained sourly as she unravled herself from the darkness. She was beautiful. Her eyes were an exeptionally plae green rimmed with a radiant silver. It was almost as if they could penetrate my tarnished soul and fill it with an untochable light. Long brunette waves framed her round, statuesque face as her lips formed an intimidating smirk.
"Ha. And just who do you think you are?" my preadator replied slyly, her tone slick with venom, as she stepped foward to confront my savior.
"Oh I thought you could answer that one for me." my hero shot back, pulling her shoulders back proudly. "Since you seem to think you know everything." This sarcastic remark seemed to render the antagonist without words and still staring at her opponet in bitter disgust. As a heavy sileence settled over the two I began to gaze between them in utter amazement. Whoever this fantastical stranger was, I was postive I had never met anyone like her, so bold and valliant.
