Kat's outfit to the side, without the necklace:p
Chapter 1
"Stop Ethan!" I screamed as I ran through the living room, with him hot on my tail.
"No way Kat, this is payback!" He yelled back, laughing. He caught me and flung me onto the couch.
"Please, don't!" I begged.
"Too late." He said with a mischievous smile. He began tickling me, using my weakness against me. In seconds I had tears running down my face, and was laughing crazily.
"No-! Stop!" I said between laughs.
"Tell me I'm the hottest guy you've ever seen, and I'll let you go." He replied with a smirk.
"You're the hottest guy I've ever seen!" I yelled, running out of breath.
"I know." He said with a wink.
"And I thought you two were just friends..." said another voice from the doorway. I looked over to see me mom leaning against the wall with a joking smile on her lips.
"We are!" I yelled, trying to keep the blush off my face from the embarrassment of my mom hearing my little statement.
"It's ok, I approve." My mom replied. This just made me blush harder. Ethan looks down at me with a smirk. That's when I realized our position. Me laying on the couch with my best friend Ethan straddling me, and me yelling that he's the hottest guy I've ever seen, I can see how it looked a little too friendly.
I gave Ethan my own smirk as I pushed off me, landing with a thud on the floor.
"Sorry, you're fat." I said joking.
"You've got it wrong, this is all muscle." He replied winking. I couldn't deny it, he worked out all the time, and had an amazing body. Truthfully, he probably was the hottest guy I had ever seen. With his short Black hair, his piercing blue eyes, his strong defined jaw, and his body like a Greek god's, it's hard to compare him to any other guy.
"Yeah, ok, chubs." I replied jokingly, while poking his stomach. There was no fat on him, and we both knew it. Basically, his payback was for me taking his last Oreo. No one and that means not even me, touched Ethan's Oreos.
I stood up, and held out my hand to Ethan, to help him up from the floor. He grabbed my hand and pulled himself up.
"Are you going to Ryan's party later?" He asked me. Ryan was on the football team with Ethan, and he was probably one of Ethan's closest guy friends. Ryan always had huge parties, one of the biggest being his end-of-summer party that he had every year.
"No, it's only the last party before junior year." I replied, sarcasm dipping from my voice.
"No need for the sarcasm." He said, mocking hurt.
"What, big bad football player Ethan can't handle some sarcasm?" I said with a smile.
"Yeah, yeah. I'll be back at 8:00 to pick you up okay? Be ready."
"Ok." I replied hugging him. "Bye Shadow." I said, calling him by the nickname my dad made for him. We're always together, so my dad said he followed me like a shadow, and I guess it kinda stuck.
"Bye Kat." He said. He hugged me back, then turned and left. Kat was the nickname he came up with for me, since when we were little he couldn't say Kathleen right. Me and Ethan have been best friends for as long as I can remember, because of us always being neighbors.
Our families were really close, and my mom and dad always saw Ethan as their own son. This basically meant we could just walk into each others house and no one had a problem with it. I realized I had just been standing where we had hugged for about 5 minutes just thinking.
It was already 6:30, so I ran upstairs to get ready. I showered, curled my long dirty-blonde hair, and went to find an outfit. I decided on skinny jeans, a sequined top, ankle boots, and my leather jacket. I checked my phone and saw that Ethan would be here any minute. I grabbed my clutch and my phone and headed downstairs.
As my feet hit the last step I heard Ethan's car honk outside. I said a quick goodbye to my mom and was out the door. I climbed into Ethan's Mustang and we were off to Ryan's party.
"Well you look nice." I said to Ethan with a smile.
"I know." He said jokingly. "You do too."
"I'm not going to have to fight off a bunch of girls to hangout with my best friend am I?" I said smiling.
"Probably." He replied laughing. "Some girls are so desperate, they just throw themselves at you, ya know?" He said shaking his head.
"Actually no, I don't know what it's like to have girls throw themselves at me." I replied with a grin. Ethan barked with laughter, and I smiled knowing my comment made him laugh.
My phone vibrated, so I checked it and saw it was a text from my friend Mya. 'Are u coming to Ryan's?' I texted her back saying I'd see her there, and turned back to Ethan. He looked thoughtful while he was driving, and then looked at me like he snapped out of it.
"Do you wanna ditch the party and go somewhere else?" He said seriously.
"Uhmm... Why? Don't you want to go?" I asked curiously.
"I don't want to be mobbed by a bunch of girls tonight, and there's always other parties. Please?" He said with the puppy dog look.
"Fine.. Where are we going?" I asked.
"I've already thought of that." He said with a huge smile.
"This could either be a really good idea or something I will deeply regret." I replied shaking my head.
......
"We're here!" Ethan yelled excitedly, halfway out of the car. I turned, not knowing what to expect.
Well I definitely didn't expect this.
