"So you're not going to tell him?" Pete asked me while I gathered my books for my next class.

I rolled my eyes and nodded. "No Pete, I'm not going to tell him."

"Hey guys!" Dallon yelled, walking over with Brendon's hand in his.

"Besides, he looks happy with him anyway. I'm still his best friend and all I want is for Dallon to be happy." I explained. Pete frowned but didn't say anything else.

"Hey Dal! Hey Bren!" Pete said in a fake-happy tone.

They waved to him and Dallon walked over to me with a smile.

"Hey Ry, have you been okay? You haven't texted me in a while." Dallon shuffled his feet, a thing he only did when he was nervous. "I got kind of worried."

I smiled sympathetically at my best friend's concern and rested my arm on his shoulder. "I'm fine Dallon. I just had a lot to do." I lied through my teeth. Dallon smiled and wrapped his arms around me.

"I'm always here for you, ya' know?" He asked with a chuckle. I nodded. "Totally."

The bell rang and Brendon grinned, interlocking his finger with Dallon's again. "First period, gotta go Ry." Dallon told me before his smile faded. "Call me tonight, okay?" I nodded and they walked off.

Pete patted my back. "You're gonna be just fine, Ry." He told me.

"I hope so." I replied before I shut my locker.  "I don't think I've ever hated Brendon Urie so much. I know he loves Dallon, but I could treat him so much better than Brendon could have even thought of." I stated and Pete chuckled.

"You're really head over heals for Dallon, aren't you?" Pete asked. I groaned.

"Yeah and I fucking hate it." I stated before we made our way to our first class of the day.

⏰⏰

First period was music theory, and Dallon always dropped Brendon off at his class beforehand.

He strutted in with a smile and took his normal seat beside Pete and I. Today he's been more concerned about me, and it's only making me like him more.

"You sure you're okay?" Dallon asked randomly. I nodded, but he shook his head and placed his hand on mine. I felt my cheeks heat up and heard Pete snicker from behind me. "No you're not Ry. We've been best friends forever! You know I love you and you can tell me anything, right?"

I gulped and smiled. "I know Dal, I've just been really tired lately. I'm sorry for making you feel bad." I looked away from him and let out a sigh of relief before Dallon turned me around to face him again.

"Ryan Ross you never have to apologize for needing some time to yourself. I understand."

"I don't want to just be your friend." I thought to myself. I shook the thought from my head and offered him a smile. "Thanks Dal. You're the best."
